I am leaving one star only because I can’t leave zero.
I recently took over the care of my mom’s dog and transferred his records to this Banfield location from the Benbrook Banfield. I was told I needed to bring him in to meet the veterinarian. However, I never actually met the vet. A tech came out, took my dog inside, and that was it. As pet owners, I believe it is important for us to actually meet and speak with the person who is going to be responsible for caring for our pets.
We later scheduled my 6-month-old Goldendoodle for his neuter surgery at this location. He is an extremely active puppy, which they were aware of. His incision was closed with surgical glue, but it did not hold and the incision opened. I brought him back two days later, paid an additional $200, and they placed staples instead of sutures.
He was sedated afterward and spent most of the day and night sleeping, so his activity was very limited. Despite that, by the following day the staples were already coming out and the incision had reopened AGAIN.
At that point, I no longer trusted this location to continue treating him, so I took him to another veterinarian. The second vet told me the previous closure had been poorly done and had to repair the incision using both internal and external sutures. That visit cost me another $600.
So on top of watching my 6-month-old puppy go through his original surgery, have his incision reopen TWICE, and then have to undergo another procedure to properly close the wound, I ended up paying approximately $800 in additional expenses just to address the complications and have his incision repaired.
This entire experience has been extremely upsetting and disappointing. We trusted Banfield with his care and had a wellness plan with them, yet I ended up having to take him somewhere else to get the problem properly addressed.
I will be canceling our Banfield plan and will not be returning to this location.
I absolutely DO NOT recommend this place. Our pets are members of our families, and when we leave them in the care of veterinary professionals, we should be able to trust that they are being treated with the appropriate level of care. After this experience, I have absolutely no confidence in this location.

I explained I wanted to be in the room during the exam, and the front office told me that’s okay as long as I select the “in office” appointment option. When the tech started taking her back, I explained this, and she responded, “well yeah, you’re *in* the office”. Clarification on this rule may be helpful for future customers. I didn’t want to make a big fuss, so while the vet did the physical exam in the back, all I could hear was incredibly loud cackling/yelling from the office. I understand having fun with co-workers, but it was very unprofessional.
Every other vet I’ve been to always made sure to give a calm, comforting, professional environment to patients and families. I did not receive that impression here, unfortunately. Upon leaving, I asked for my pet’s diagnosis to which I was told “We haven’t really diagnosed her yet, but we’ll give you a call later”. I was only told suspicions and a prescription without any confirmation. It was very confusing, and if I hadn’t received a free visit coupon after adopting, I’d be very upset to have had spent my money on this appointment. 2 stars rather than 1 because the room I waited in was very clean.

We took in an elderly shih tzu from an elderly family member who was so extremely matted from grooming neglect he couldn't go to the potty and you could tell was in pain. They were so understanding and accommodating and got us in immediate. They gave us several options and the groomer even offered to come in on her day off without pay if needed if we decided to put him fully under. I was nervous because hes about 15 or 16 years old and we had to go with a risky procedure due to funds but they explained the risks and did such a great job and got him on antibiotics and pain meds after. Hes now resting comfortably at home.

What is an Optimum Wellness Plan?
Optimum Wellness Plans are designed to provide annual preventive care. They include head-to-tail exams, vaccines, early screening diagnostics, consultations for proper nutrition, dental care and more! Since wellness plans are not insurance, they do not include treatment for unpredictable or abnormal conditions, however discounts would apply. Because pets need ongoing preventive care, wellness plans automatically renew at the end of each twelve month period (unless paid in full at enrollment).
How do I pay for an Optimum Wellness Plan?
You can spread the cost of your wellness plan across the 12 months of your annual agreement to make it easier to budget for the essential health care your pet needs. Your monthly payments can be automatically withdrawn from a checking or savings account or charged to a credit card so that you don’t have to worry about them once you enroll. We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.
What kind of appointment do I have?
• In-room appointments: You and your pet visit the vet together. Please arrive a few minutes before your appointment time
• Drop-off appointments: If you have a drop-off appointment, we will communicate a time to drop off your pet. Keep your phone nearby and we’ll call you when your pet is ready for pickup.
• Optimum Wellness Plans® Virtual Visits: If you have an Optimum Wellness Plan and scheduled a Virtual Visit, you’ll save valuable time and get quality care from the comfort of your home.
