  Do not buy aquatic pets here. They have a salesgirl who was very rude. This was my go to pet store for all my pet needs. Me and my husband went in excited to purchase a turtle, we looked around the store before going to the front where they have them, we went ahead and asked the only girl at the front if she could please get us a turtle. She was on her phone when i interrupted her and immediately looked bothered, she then proceeded to ask questions and then stated she couldnt sell us one. We (me&my husband) then just looked at each other surprised because they had never turned us back for anything specially not when buying a pet! She then proceeded to ask in a very rude manner “well is there anything else you need help with?” I said no thank you and she walked away from the front register where she was at. we had never been treated this way! I dont know why they have her there if she lacks customer service. I don’t understand why someone with that attitude is representing a company that relies on customers!!! She has pink hair just to be specific on who the sales girl was. Never coming back. Yall just lost a loyal customer.

  It was around 8:40 and I wanted to buy a hamster and the lady said she that they are almost closed so they can’t sell me a hamster.

  Everything is overpriced. I purchased a floating basking platform which attaches to the tank. I paid allot for this platform. No surprise, it does not float. We had to put his other platform underneath it to stay stable

  I've been here several times over some years, and I cannot praise the staff enough for keeping the place clean, and well stocked, and having friendly attitudes. My 3 star score is here because the store seems uncomfortably hot. I mentioned it to an employee that said they had been working to get the AC fixed, but I've been noticing this for some time now, especially over my last few visits. I went to visit the grooming department to get pricing for my dog, but had second thoughts as it was sweltering in there as it is. I left without speaking to anyone. Our furry friends body temperatures are higher than ours naturally, and I fear bringing my dog in there until the AC can be fixed. Maybe the actual grooming area has its own separate AC, but I have no way of knowing, and I still would be worried my dog might get overheated especially in southeast Texas during the summer. Hopefully this problem can be resolved quickly, because I love this store, and I feel terribly for the animals there, and even the employees. Please Petco, fix your AC, so I can change this review to 5 stars!
