I’m so thankful for this vet hospital. This was the only one in the area who could take my pup in quickly and tend to her immediately. They were super friendly and continually reassured me that they will take care of her. I’m so grateful to have had such a positive experience with this animal hospital and their staff.

Unfortunately, our dog was not seen today by the 1 Dr working due to other critical issues. That’s understandable but we waited 2 hrs and sent a picture to get an understanding of whether our dog needed some minor surgical care or not. Having only 1 practicing Dr onsite at an animal hospital doesn’t seem appropriate given the level of urgent care most pets coming in would need.

Wrigly is an 8 year old Staffordshire terrier. Although she likes to think of herself as a princess.
We moved to New Braunfels a month ago. No established vet yet. All is well… until… disaster.
Rigs has come down with diarrhea. Not nuclear but definitely explosive. And after trying and securing an appointment with a local vet scheduled for a couple days, I come home to her vomiting her entire breakfast.
No.
I found Allure. Called and they said to bring her in. So glad I did. First, our vet tech was impossibly incredible. Rigs loved her from the start. The Vet looked like a Pirate. “C’mon Captain Bluebeard… show me where you buried the treasure!” He was amazing.
Rigs definitely got into something she shouldn’t have during the move. But with the right diagnosis and the right meds, my girl on the mend.
Thank you to the folks at Allure and especially the Tech and Captain Bluebeard! You two were great! My girl is sleeping soundly right now

Unfortunately, this isn’t our first bad experience with Allure Pet Hospital.
We came here back in 2020 and left feeling disappointed, but we gave them the benefit of the doubt because it was during COVID and everyone was dealing with difficult circumstances. Sadly, six years later, nothing seems to have changed. The staff still comes across as jaded and uncaring, and it feels like the business is more focused on moving people in and out than showing compassion for the animals and their owners.
Today our dog started showing symptoms that had us really worried. We called the emergency pet hospital in New Braunfels first. They asked several questions about her symptoms over the phone and told us she needed to be seen immediately. The problem was they had about a 3.5-hour wait, so they recommended we call Allure because they thought our dog shouldn’t wait that long.
We called Allure, explained what was going on, and were told to bring her in.
About 10 minutes later we walked through the front door, only to be told they were already at full capacity, that it was going to be a long wait, and that we should try another emergency hospital instead.
I asked the receptionist/tech with red hair and glasses why we had just been told to come in if they were already full. Her response was, “That was then and this is now.” I told her it had literally only been 10 minutes. She replied, “This is why we don’t give wait times over the phone. If you want, you’re more than welcome to leave.”
What upset me the most wasn’t even that they filled up. I completely understand that emergency hospitals get busy and things can change quickly. It was the way we were treated. Not once did anyone ask what was wrong with our dog, ask how she was doing, or show even a little bit of concern. There was no empathy, no sense of urgency, and no effort to make us feel like they cared that we were there because we thought our dog was having an emergency.
When you’re scared and trying to get help for your pet, the last thing you expect is to be spoken to so dismissively. A little compassion goes a long way, and unfortunately we didn’t experience any of that here.
Based on two experiences six years apart, I can’t recommend Allure Pet Hospital. I sincerely hope they work on how they communicate with and treat people during what is often one of the most stressful moments for pet owners.
