  We came to Banfield Pet Hospital because my puppy has cherry eye and has been in pain and discomfort for three days. She has been scratching at her eye despite wearing a cone, and I’ve seen blood around it. Watching her suffer has been heartbreaking. I came in looking for help, treatment options, and some compassion. Instead, I left feeling that selling me medication mattered more than addressing the reason we were there. I pay approximately $100 a month for a plan that advertises “unlimited visits.” Based on my experience, those visits repeatedly turn into conversations about additional treatments and expenses. When I called this morning, I specifically explained that my puppy needed to be seen for cherry eye. After waiting for over an hour, the conversation was about medication for diarrhea she had that morning and why she could not receive her vaccines—not about her painful eye. I already had diarrhea medication left over from her previous visit. That visit cost me approximately $600 for testing and treatment after she developed diarrhea following a food change. I felt pressured to purchase more medication than we needed. Her vaccinations were also postponed, and now I’m being told there will be an additional vaccine charge because too much time has passed between doses. This has left me frustrated with both the scheduling and the unexpected costs. But the most upsetting part was what happened when I finally asked about her eye. After all that waiting, I was told the veterinarian who handles cherry eye was not there and that someone could email me a quote later that evening. Why wasn’t I told that when I called and clearly explained why I was bringing her in? My puppy was hurting. I needed someone to address her eye or tell me upfront that they could not help so I could take her somewhere else. Instead, I spent over an hour there while the discussion focused on other treatments and charges. I asked for my puppy back and said I would take her elsewhere. When another veterinarian and a staff member came in, I explained that I felt they were trying to sell me medication instead of helping with her eye. While I was expressing how upset I was, one staff member appeared to smirk. Whether that was intentional or not, it made me feel dismissed at a moment when I was already distressed about my puppy’s suffering. I have been a dog owner my entire life, and this was one of the most upsetting experiences I have ever had seeking veterinary care. My puppy cannot speak for herself. I trusted this hospital to take her discomfort seriously, and I left feeling unheard, misled, and deeply disappointed. I understand that veterinary care costs money. What I cannot accept is clearly explaining that my puppy has a painful eye problem, waiting over an hour, and only then learning that the veterinarian who could address it was unavailable. To me, that felt careless and lacking in basic compassion. I will not return to this location, and I would not recommend it based on my experience. Anyone considering the monthly “unlimited visits” plan should ask exactly what is included, what costs extra, and whether the veterinarian available can actually address the problem their pet is coming in for. Banfield, please do better. My puppy deserved care and compassion, and I deserved clear communication—not a visit that left me feeling like a sales opportunity while she continued to suffer.

  Would give this place 0 stars if I could . They are not a real veterinarian hospital and I mean that literally they're not equipped for anything except vaccines and neutering.not emergencys yet they will keep trying to get you to use them regardless .They are a profit over animal well being. They were responsible for my animals death and I have witnessed this with many others when their animals needed emergency medical attention. By the time I got my cat to a emergency vet, they said if you had brought her here 2 weeks sooner she would have lived and then she died. And I was out thousands . So do your research find a real vet like hillside . Unless you want to be another victim of malpractice and animal negligence

  Why am i struggling to get my dogs rabies shot proof ?!?! Whats wrong with you workers i never seen such pitiful amount of effort and action and the need to pathologicaly lie over something that simple?!? If they overcomplicate things more than it should it should definitely reflect on their quality of treatment of animals especially urgent times..please reconsider visiting this clinic they act incompetent to make their days easier like as if not everyone is entitled to their bad days too it doesn't make sense why are this exerted over a small task

  I don't see the point of having an online system that does not work. Went up there at 2, they said nobody was there to do an appointment. Couldn't find my booking. The other location in mesquite said no one would be there & no available appointments at 3. So why do yall have it available online? Will not go back.
