  I can't say enough good things about the clinic! We brought 2 of our dogs here for the 1st time and wow! We recently relocated but would continue to drive to our old vet almost an hour away. I was hesitant to make the change. I've had some great vets in the past but this was by far the best. Dr. Coonrod was so knowledgeable and I truly feel like he cared about my dogs. He explained, in great detail, my dogs' diagnoses and treatment plans. The front desk staff and vet tech were friendly and professional. It was very affordable and clean. We've definitely found a new home for our boys!

  We brought our little guy in for a hurt paw. Everyone there was so friendly and the doctor was great! So glad to have this clinic so close to home. Best part is that they have extended hours! Our regular vet is a bit far, so we will most likely be transitioning them here.

  I can’t recommend Homestead Animal Hospital enough. I’ve already taken both of my cats, Onyx and Simon, there twice—even as walk-ins—and each experience has been fantastic. One of the biggest things for me is that they’re open every day of the week and don’t charge emergency vet prices, which is such a relief when something unexpected comes up. Both visits were quick and efficient without ever feeling rushed. Every staff member I’ve interacted with has been professional, kind, and genuinely caring. They also answer the phone quickly, which makes a huge difference when you’re worried about your pet and need guidance. It’s clear they truly care about both the animals and their owners. I’m really grateful to have found them so soon after they opened!

  My dog was bitten by a rattlesnake. His regular vet was not equipped to handle this type of emergency. I contacted the VCA Animal Hospital in Elgin, who provided the same response. With heightened anxiety and my heart pounding in my ears, I was prepared to drive to CTVSH in Round Rock. Fortunately, staff at the VCA clinic called back immediately and told me of Homestead Animal Hospital and Urgent Care. My dog was seen immediately. I hadn't even finished filling out the paperwork when he was taken (they did inform me of the minimum cost for the needed bloodwork to which I provided a verbal agreement). Dr. Brown was so clear in explaining the needed treatment and care plan, including the need for an overnight stay. My anxiety was something I hadn't experienced since my last experience with a pet emergency over 10 years ago. Dr. Brown and her staff were amazing and so empathic. A vet tech called me 3 times to provide status updates (the third call to let me know Dr. Brown had an emergency surgery and would be calling later than her stated time). Dr. Brown called at the end of the day to provide a summary of the day's treatments, progress, and prognosis. She assured me a tech would be with my boy through the night and she, personally, would call me if anything changed. I am so, so grateful that we have an emergency pet center in town. And, while they may not be a 24-hour facility, it is comforting to know that they are present 7 days a week. I appreciate the care, the professionalism, and the compassion shown - not just for my pup, but for myself as well. My pup is doing great! Thank you Dr. Brown and staff.

  I arrived at this animal hospital about 10 minutes before closing with a cat that urgently needed care. Instead of trying to help or even offering basic guidance, I was told I would have to pay an expensive after-hours fee of $245 plus a $70 exam fee. What made this especially disappointing is that I live only 5 minutes away from this clinic, yet I had to drive 25 minutes to another clinic while my cat needed attention. In situations involving animals in need, compassion and flexibility should come first. I understand policies exist, but the lack of consideration in this situation was frustrating and stressful. I hope the clinic can improve how they handle urgent cases that arrive shortly before closing time. Update: Excellent service and very caring staff. They treated my cats with kindness and professionalism. The doctors and team were helpful, patient, and made us feel comfortable throughout the visit. Highly recommended animal hospital!
