My first visit to this clinic was yesterday and it was to say goodbye to my long time partner and retired working dog. The staff was top notch and they were not rushing us in any way. They treated my partner with complete respect and were very comforting to me and my daughters. I have been to many clinics over the years with good and bad experiences as most businesses have. There is truly nothing bad I can say about this clinic. I have several other dogs and will be moving them all over to Liberty Hill Animal Hospital. Thank you again for your professionalism and compassion. One amazing staff!!!

Wouldn’t recommend Dr. Matthew Brooks.
I was disappointed with the wellness exam my cat received today. I brought her in because I was concerned about the amount of debris in her ears. She is an indoor-only cat, and the debris looked very similar to what she had when she was a kitten and had ear mites. The veterinarian initially told me it wasn’t ear mites and that it was nothing concerning. Since I was still worried, I requested an ear cytology. The results showed that she actually had a mild yeast infection, so I’m glad I trusted my instincts and asked for additional testing.
My biggest concern, however, was how limited the physical exam felt. During the exam, the veterinarian looked at her ears, eyes, gums, coat, listened to her heart, and checked her temperature. What surprised me was that her fur was never parted to examine the skin for fleas, flea dirt, flea eggs, rashes, or other skin problems. She was wearing a recovery bodysuit, but it was never removed, so her abdomen, nipples, and much of her skin were never examined. Her genital area also wasn’t checked until I specifically asked about it, and it felt like my concern was brushed off rather than taken seriously.
When I pay for a comprehensive physical exam, I expect a true head-to-tail examination. To me, that means checking the ears, eyes, mouth, heart, lungs, skin, abdomen, mammary glands, and genital area—not just the areas that are immediately visible. Instead, the exam felt very basic.
At $75 for the exam alone, I expected a much more thorough evaluation. I understand that every veterinarian has their own examination style, but I left feeling like important parts of my cat’s physical examination were overlooked.
I hope this feedback helps the clinic better explain what their exam includes and consider providing a more comprehensive physical examination in the future.

There aren’t enough words to describe how much we love and appreciate the vets here! Our pup has quite a bit of anxiety and fear aggression when it comes to vet visits and the doctors here are so patient and good with her every single time. They are so communicative, patient and helpful, so it really makes the stressful situation much better. Special shout out to Dr. Lane and Dr. Zeek we couldn’t do it without them! ❤️

Just want to send the entire team a hugh Thank You. My wife and I were traveling thru Leander / Liberty Hill when we noticed our dog had gotten stung by some insect and the wound was in bad shape. Liberty Hill Animal Clinic was able to get us in to see the vet as a walk in customer and get our dog treated. Their hours of operation and staff are great. I have to also say I feel the price was very fair for the treatment our dog received along with the walk in cost. No complaints from me. We were able to continue on our trip as planned and our dog recovered quickly after treatment.
My wife and I appreciate all you all do, Thank You!

Poor customer service, disorganized record-keeping, and a complete lack of accountability.
I cannot recommend Liberty Hill Animal Hospital based on our repeated experiences. Today was the fifth time we were told that our dogs’ records did not reflect current or accurate information, despite us having provided the necessary documentation multiple times.
After waiting more than 30 minutes, the veterinary technician informed us that one of our dogs, Maddox, was not up to date on his vaccines and that we would need to wait for the doctor. I explained that this issue had already been resolved during check-in when the receptionist located Maddox’s records and confirmed that his vaccinations were current.
Despite that, the vet tech said she still needed to verify the information. I went to the front desk and showed proof of Maddox’s vaccination records, along with evidence that I had emailed them both last month and again today. At that point, another receptionist, McKenzie, who had not been involved in the original check-in process, inserted herself into the conversation. She spoke to me in a rude, dismissive, and unprofessional manner, repeatedly refusing to even look at the records I was trying to show her and insisting that she would not listen to me because another employee had to confirm her the information.
I requested to speak with the doctor. When he arrived, he explained that they had changed their system last month. However, this was not a new issue. This is the fifth time we have encountered problems with our pets’ records not reflecting information that had already been provided. We keep hearing the same explanation, but the problem continues to happen.
What concerns me most is that these repeated record-keeping failures go beyond being an inconvenience. They create unnecessary delays, frustration, and serious concerns about the accuracy of the medical information they maintain for their patients. As pet owners, we should not have to repeatedly prove that records have been submitted and vaccines are current.
What was especially disappointing was the lack of accountability. The doctor did not apologize for the repeated issues, the unnecessary wait, or the rude behavior displayed by his staff. He simply took my dog to continue the appointment.
When checking out, I informed the staff that I intended to leave a review and asked for the name of the receptionist who had been rude. McKenzie provided her name in an irritated manner and walked away while I was still speaking. That interaction only reinforced the lack of professionalism we experienced throughout the visit.
My dogs receive their regular veterinary care through VCA. I only bring them to Liberty Hill Animal Hospital for nail trims and anal gland expressions because it is conveniently located. However, after multiple experiences involving inaccurate records, poor communication, rude customer service, and a lack of concern from management, I am genuinely worried about what could happen if there were ever a medical emergency and the information in their system was incorrect. Terrible experience.
If this is how poorly they treat pet owners who pay for their services, I can only imagine how they treat the pets once they are behind closed doors.
