Our longtime Vet recently retired. My husband chose this place for our elderly dog and I chose a different place for my puppy.
He took our elderly dog in because her ear had swollen up. They did surgery, put in a drain, medication and eventually removed the drain. After almost $900 and pain and stress for our dog and stress for us her ear went right back to the same way. I called and they wanted to do the SAME things again and charge us FULL price again! What did we pay them for if their treatment failed? No thank you.
Needless to say we will NEVER be back. She can go to our puppy Vet where they ACTUALLY TREAT a animal in a stress free environment the first time!

Pointe 183 Animal Hospital is an absolute lifesaver! My senior Yorkie was in pain and I was terrified of what an urgent care visit would cost. The vet was so kind and handled his issue so gently during the exam. The exam itself was very affordable along with the cost of his medicine. It is so hard to find an honest vet these days who actually cares about the pet more than racking up a huge bill. We are so relieved and will definitely be back!

Dr. Wilson & staff are amazing! All the receptionist are always so friendly, courteous and helpful with trying to get you scheduled as soon as possible. I went in because my dog had a large mass on her neck & Dr. Wilson examined her & did the surgery that day. She was back to her normal, spunky self after a few days. The staff call you and check on you and your pet to see how things are going, Great service! Post op visits, Dr. Wilson shows so much care, although my dog can be a bit dramatic at times. Thank you all for being so kind and caring with my Sophie. We love our Pointe 183 family♥️

My Golden Retriever, Murphy, came in today for a routine procedure, and we had a great experience. Murphy is usually very anxious at vet visits, but today he was excited, comfortable, and ready to go with the team.
I’ll admit there have been some minor issues in the past that made me question communication and customer service, but today completely turned that around. From the front desk to the surgical team and Dr. Wilson, everyone helped rebuild my trust and made me feel confident leaving Murphy in their care.
A special thank you to Dr. Wilson and Lucianna (I hope I’m spelling that correctly). They were warm, friendly, honest, and took the time to answer all my questions. They made both Murphy and me feel comfortable throughout the process. Murphy instantly bonded with Lucianna, and her patience and kindness helped ease his anxiety with a newer clinic and unfamiliar faces.
I also want to recognize Katie at the front desk. She has been amazing every visit, always helping find answers, making things happen, and ensuring pet owners feel informed and comfortable.
My only recommendation for improvement would be continued focus on communication and service confirmation. We previously had a service that was not completed as requested, so ensuring all requested services are clearly reviewed and confirmed before discharge would help prevent misunderstandings and make the experience even smoother.
Overall, today's experience was wonderful, and I truly appreciate the care, compassion, and professionalism shown to Murphy and me.
Bonus: They always have excellent availability to get your pet in and offer emergency walk-in care. Their services are reasonably priced.
Thank you, Pointe 183 Team! 💚

Frequently Asked Questions About Pointe 183 Animal Hospital & Urgent Care
My pet ate something they weren't supposed to. What should I do?
Inducing vomiting in pets may seem like a quick solution when they ingest foreign objects, but it can sometimes be dangerous. This procedure can lead to trauma or irritation of the esophagus, especially if the ingested material is sharp or includes hazardous items like batteries. It’s crucial to consult your veterinarian immediately if your pet consumes a foreign object. In many cases, we can safely induce vomiting using injectable medication, minimizing the risk of complications such as stomach ulcers. However, there are situations where surgical intervention may be necessary to remove the foreign object. Always prioritize your pet's safety by seeking professional guidance in these scenarios.
Why do you recommend dental cleanings so often?
Dental cleanings are essential for maintaining your pet's overall health and well-being. Starting annual cleanings at a young adult age can significantly help prevent serious medical issues related to dental disease, such as infections and organ damage. Regular dental care not only keeps your pet’s teeth and gums healthy but also saves you money in the long run. By addressing dental issues early, we can avoid complicated and costly extractions down the line. Invest in your pet's health today with routine dental cleanings and ensure they enjoy a happy, healthy life for years to come!
What kind of dog/cat food do you recommend?
Recent research has raised concerns about the safety of grain-free diets for pets, linking them to an increased risk of Dilated Cardiomyopathy (DCM), a serious heart condition. To ensure your furry friend receives the best nutrition, we do not recommend grain-free options. Instead, we advocate for trusted brands like Hill's Science Diet, Royal Canin, and Purina. These brands are backed by veterinary research and are specifically formulated to meet the nutritional needs of pets. They also offer specialized diets tailored to address various medical conditions, ensuring your pet stays healthy and happy. Choose wisely for your pet’s diet and prioritize their long-term health with these reputable options!
Why do you require a fecal test annually?
At Pointe 183 Animal Hospital & Urgent Care, we require annual fecal screenings for the following reasons: Early detection: Many parasites don't show obvious symptoms, making early detection crucial. Fecal testing can identify these hidden threats before they cause serious health issues. Zoonotic risks: Some intestinal parasites, like roundworms and hookworms, can be transmitted to humans. Protecting your pet also protects your loved ones. Preventative care: Early treatment can prevent complications and improve your pet's overall health and well-being.
