  I had a disappointing grooming experience at this Petco. I dropped my dog Kimi off for grooming and was greeted after waiting by an employee who seemed visibly annoyed that I had arrived early. When I explained that Kimi has anxiety and that I was concerned about him being there for a long time, her response was dismissive: “Oh well, you could do the VIP option.” That really bothered me. I wasn’t asking for special treatment — I was trying to communicate something important about my dog’s temperament and comfort. It felt like basic care and reassurance were treated as an upsell. I later spoke with the store manager, who said a discount would be applied due to the experience. At checkout, however, the discount was not given because Kimi was ready on time. That completely missed the point. The issue was never that he wasn’t ready on time; the issue was the attitude at drop-off and the way my concerns about his anxiety were brushed off. The haircut itself was also fairly mediocre. Overall, I left feeling like my dog’s comfort was not taken seriously, and the promised resolution was not honored. I’m about ready to cancel my VitalCare membership as I don’t feel like Petco values their customers anymore.

  There's a nice fish and reptile department. But the biggest part of the store is focused on cats and dogs. However unless you are looking for a specialty item, the process area more expensive than what you can find at normal stores like HEB or Walmart. I'll keep buying my cat food at one of those places and just come here for anything really specific.
