It's smaller than the one in South Park Medows, but the staff is great, and the animals look well taken care of. Have been able to find what we needed

At this time of the day it was hard to locate an employee for help. 6pm on a Sunday.
They did have what I was looking for, but I found it myself. I still like this store more their main competitor in San Marcos.
Absolutely unacceptable experience.
If a groomer believes they cannot safely groom a dog, I respect that decision. My issue is the way my wife and I were treated and the complete lack of communication.
About a year and a half ago, one of our Goldendoodles became anxious during grooming. At no point did anyone tell us that our dogs had been permanently banned from grooming. If they had, we would have respected that decision and never returned.
Fast forward to today our most recent visit. When we picked up our dogs, instead of pulling us aside and having a professional conversation, multiple employees loudly told us our dogs were “bad,” “terrible,” and “never welcome here again” in front of other customers.
When we asked to speak with the a manager, he wouldn't allow us to speak to them and said they weren't in and avoid giving us their information.
How do you permanently ban customers and never tell them? No phone call. No email. No letter. No conversation. Then, when they unknowingly return, as a groomer not a manager tell us that information.
To make matters worse, when I explained that no one had ever informed us, the response was simply, “Well, I’m telling you now. You’re banned.”
That is not customer service. That is poor management.
Our dogs are Goldendoodles. They can be anxious during grooming, but anxious does not mean aggressive.
I will be contacting Petco Customer Care because customers deserve accurate documentation, honest communication, and to be treated with basic respect. Based on my experience, this location failed in all three. JOSHUA also is a terrible assistant manager rolling his eyes, and refused giving us manager information.
Very disappointed with the grooming service at this Petco. I cannot recommend it.
Every time I bring my dogs here, something goes wrong. In previous visits, one of my dogs has come home with an injured paw and eye irritation. This time, my dog Nena came home with severe razor burn and skin irritation on her belly after being shaved, and my puppy Toby, who was having his very first grooming appointment, was injured near his eye during the grooming process.
The groomer acknowledged the incident and told me that Petco would cover the veterinary visit if needed, but that does not change the fact that my dogs should not be leaving a professional grooming salon with injuries.
I paid over $200 for this appointment expecting safe, professional care, and instead both of my dogs came home hurt. This has happened more than once, and unfortunately I no longer trust this location with my pets.
I hope Petco takes this seriously and improves its grooming standards so that other pets do not have to go through the same experience.
Stopped by your store between 5:00 and 5:20 p.m. on July 5 to pick up a few things for my dog. When I went to check out, there were around 10 or so customers waiting in line with zero cashiers at the front. I watched two employees who appeared to be groomers (one with long curly black hair and one with curly blonde hair in a ponytail) repeatedly press the "team member to the front" button and make confused faces while laughing. I'm not sure if they were trained on register or not, but there didn't appear to be any dogs being groomed. The blonde employee was wiping the windows, and the other employee was walking around. It just seemed like no one was really willing to step in and help.
After a couple of minutes, two flustered cashiers came up and immediately started helping customers. They were both very kind, and I wanted to give them a shoutout because they handled the situation well.
The most disappointing part of my visit, though, was my interaction with the blonde employee. As I was walking out, she was standing on her phone. She told me to "have a great day," and when I didn't verbally respond, she said "you too" to herself in a way that came across as rude and sarcastic. That interaction, combined with the lack of urgency while customers were waiting, left a very poor impression. The two stars in this review are for your two cashiers, one for each of them.
