User beware. I unknowingly scheduled my dog’s annual vaccinations through a Vetco Vaccination Clinic and later discovered that they would not provide a written prescription for her flea and tick medication unless I purchased the medication directly through them.
I booked this appointment the same way I had booked prior Vetco visits, so I assumed I could simply return to a regular Vetco location afterward and request the prescription from the veterinarian on duty. However, when I returned, I was told that the local staff could not assist me and that I would need to contact the Vetco Vaccination Clinic directly.
I contacted the clinic, explained the situation, and initially received no response. After waiting nearly two weeks, I followed up again only to be informed that my request for a written prescription to be mailed to me was denied. This is especially frustrating because Costco Pharmacy requires a written prescription to fill my dog’s medication.
At this point, my dog’s flea and tick medication is running low, and the delays and lack of support from Vetco are now putting her health at risk for no apparent reason. I have spent weeks trying to resolve what should have been a very simple request.
The lack of communication, inconsistency between locations, and refusal to provide reasonable assistance has been extremely disappointing. Pet owners should be aware of these policies before scheduling services through this clinic.
