New dog guy here (foster turned adoption) and probably a little paranoid... but i came home the other evening and found Ella had gotten into a bag of bully sticks, with at least two missing. I was afraid she swallowed one whole. It was after hours, and found Sunset Animal Hospital online and went in. The receptionists at the front counter were warm and friendly, took my info and had us wait in a clean and dog friendly waiting room. I was seen by the vet, Dr. Kim, about 10 or 15 minutes later. I explained Ella's story, and advised him my fears of maybe the bully stick causing internal damage or an intestinal blockage. The doctor was caring, empathetic and direct, advising me that x rays likely would not show anything. I brought a bully stick with us and showed him the treat... he suggested i give it to her and see how she eats it... We we did, and she started gnawing on it like a dog should. The doc told me that it looks like she knows how to eat them and he advised just to monitor her closely for distress, vomiting, pain, etc.. and bring her back if she showed any signs/symptoms. i went back to reception and I overheard one of the employees on the phone with Dr. Kim . I heard her say, "a consultation?" and the doctor apparently gave her instructions. When she hung up, she told me, "No charge". I was shocked, and very grateful. I actually got choked up at this display of kindness. Being a new dog owner, I probably would have agreed to anything the doctor had advised, kind of an easy "mark" so to speak... but nope, they were honest, up front, kind, understanding, and refused to take advantage of my paranoia - even though i basically was begging them to! This is my go-to from now on, and I would recommend this place for anyone like me who worries a lot about their furry family members!! Thank you Dr. Kim and Sunset Animal Hospital!

I brought my 3 one week old kittens here for various reasons (concern for aspiration, constipation, and diarrhea). The staff addressed my problems quickly and had me in front of a vet within minutes. My kittens were assessed, treated, and returned to me within 30-45 minutes and the vet and staff members educated me and answered all my questions. They all did an absolutely outstanding job and really put me at ease related to the care of my kittens. On top of that, they did everything they could to keep the cost down without me asking, truly a group of individuals who are in it for the love of animals and to take care of our furry friends. Definitely would recommend.

Do not take your pet here! They will recommend unneeded services to fill their pockets. I had nothing but a very horrible, unpleasant experience with my dog who went in for an unknown injury to his leg. The vet will start throwing a lot of medical jargon at you to make it seem like “they are covering everything possibly wrong.” The vet techs are even worse with no bedside manner and will be quick to throw an estimate in your face for unneeded services. After sitting in a small room on a hard bench for over three hours with little to no communication from them, I was met with a bill that was different than what I was told and formatted in a very confusing manner (I had to go back and forth with the vet tech over 15 minutes about this and she completely contradicted herself multiple times.) The manager on sight (Nathan I believe is his name) clearly has no experience running a 24/7 animal hospital and will fake care when you ask to speak with the person in charge. They tried to tell me my dog needed to be put under which required intubation for simple X-rays. When I started doing my own research on the hospital and read some of the other MANY similar reviews on here, red flags immediately went off and I began questioning everything they told me. Not to mention they have been in business over 14 years and are not BBB accredited (what a joke!) Due your own due diligence and don’t take any pet you love and care about here!

Great place if you have an urgent issue. But if you are using them for a wellness clinic just know you may or may not be seen when you have an appointment. So plan accordingly. After using them for an emergency over the weekend I was excited about using them for all of our vetcare needs. They are not close, so the time commitment is about 45-minutes each way. When we got there today for his checkup and vaccines I was told that the only Dr working today is in the middle of a procedure and they weren't sure how long it would take. So I could either wait or I could drop him off and come back later to pick him up. Neither of those were workable options. It sure would have been nice for them to call me and tell me that the Dr had to go into an emergency and wouldn't be available for our appointment time. Then it would have been my choice to drive all the way over there an wait, or reschedule.
