  I called the Eldridge grooming location today at approximately 5:20 p.m. to try to schedule a grooming appointment for my dog, and unfortunately the customer service I received over the phone was extremely disappointing. I want to be clear that my issue is NOT that the employee was following Petco policy. If there is a safety policy they have to follow, I completely understand that. My issue was the way the information was delivered and the complete lack of helpfulness during the conversation. The employee told me that my dog’s profile said she was “aggressive,” which immediately caught me off guard because I had never been told that before. As she continued reading the notes, she also said that it stated my dog had been reactive to the blow dryer. I explained that I was aware she had recently been described as reactive to the dryer, but that she has never had these issues at the Petco location in Spring, where she had been groomed multiple times before. What confused me even more was that the Spring location had NEVER told me they couldn’t take her. In fact, they had already scheduled a grooming appointment for her for today, which I personally had to cancel for unrelated reasons. The only reason I was calling Eldridge was because Spring is now almost a 50-minute drive for me, and I was trying to find a Petco groomer closer to home. So when I was told that they couldn’t take her because it was “Petco policy,” I naturally had questions about why another Petco location was able to schedule her despite having access to the same grooming history. Instead of acknowledging why that would be confusing or trying to help me understand what my options were, the interaction felt dismissive and came across with an unnecessary attitude. Even something as simple as, “I understand why you’re confused since another location was able to schedule her. Unfortunately, based on what I’m seeing in her profile, we’re not comfortable accepting her here. I would recommend contacting customer service or the location that entered the notes to clarify what options you have,” would have completely changed the interaction. I wasn’t asking anyone to ignore a safety policy. I was trying to understand conflicting information and figure out what I was supposed to do next. You can deliver disappointing information while still treating a customer with kindness, empathy and professionalism. I have a Petco Premier membership and have continued using Petco grooming because of the positive experiences we previously had. Unfortunately, the way this phone call was handled made me uncomfortable enough that, regardless of whether the issue with my dog’s profile gets resolved, I would not feel comfortable leaving my pet at this particular location. I have already escalated my concerns with Petco customer service. I’m including the approximate time of my call today at 5:20 p.m. in case management would like to review the call recording and understand how the interaction was handled.

  Alice is AMAZING! She was so nice and friendly to my dachshund and was completely understanding to his behavior towards grooming. She let us know he did great and i could automatically tell how happy he was with her. As someone who used to take him to petsmart, his old groomer would always have negative things to say about him and wouldnt really show interest in him. Alice on the other hand has shown so much patience with him and actually shows interest. I will definitely be booking with her again because she truly cares about your pet and their needs.

  Always a good cut. My dog LOVES his groomers. They take their time so as not to stress out my dog. Been going there for over 8yrs. Never a problem.

  Kristopher did a great job trimming my chihuahuas nails. My little fur baby has anxiety & we were pleased with how well he handled our baby!
