If April is your tech, run! She is not helpful, caring and did not listen to my concerns about my dog. Tests where ran and she gave me no information regarding my pets infection! When I asked a question about my dogs condition she point blank had no answers or idea. She focused more on pushing pricing and cost of visit. Turns out my dog had infected prostate that required a different type of antibiotic after two rounds of this antibiotic I took him to another clinic where they listened to my concerns and checked out his infection, did a urine test and found the right antibiotics to treat infection. Britney was helpful and cheerful at front desk, she was the only reason I came back for a 3rd visit, but I will not be returning if April is his LVT.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but after four visits with my rescued kitten, I feel it’s important to share my experience. The biggest issue has been the complete lack of communication and organization. Every visit has felt chaotic, both among the staff and with clients. One appointment was especially frustrating. I was there for nearly four hours for what should have been a simple test. They took my 1-pound kitten to the back, completed her exam, drew blood, and later came back to tell me that everything looked healthy. About 10 minutes later, they returned and said they had drawn the wrong labs and needed to collect more blood. While mistakes can happen, I understood and agreed to let them redraw the sample. Then, another 30 minutes later, they came back again and admitted they didn’t even have the test they were trying to run in the first place. It was incredibly frustrating and could have been avoided with better communication and preparation. To make up for the inconvenience, I was told she would receive complimentary nail trims for the rest of the year. At our next visit, there was no record of what transpired nor that offer, and the staff seemed confused about what I was talking about. Today’s visit was the final straw. I rearranged my schedule to bring her in for her third round of vaccines. After arriving, I was informed that she would have to stay all day because the veterinarian prefers to perform surgeries in the morning. This was never communicated when the appointment was scheduled. Had I known, I would have planned accordingly or scheduled for another day. Another recurring issue is that every time I check in, the staff asks me, “Which vaccines are we doing today?” They should already know why I’m there. My kitten has been seen multiple times, appointments are scheduled in advance, and her medical record should clearly show what treatment is due. It doesn’t inspire confidence when I feel like I’m explaining the purpose of every visit. I understand that veterinary hospitals are busy and that mistakes occasionally happen. However, after four visits, the repeated disorganization, poor communication, and lack of coordination have made this an incredibly disappointing experience. I hope management takes these concerns seriously because pet owners deserve clear communication, efficient care, and confidence that their pets’ medical records are being properly managed.

Make sure to mention the coupon for a free first visit. They were very nice and the doctor diagnosed my cat right away and the medicine he prescribes helped her heal super quickly, it was pretty affordable too!

I brought my spayed dog to this Banfield location (5/10/26) for what turned out to be a UTI, and the experience was honestly alarming. Before even reviewing a urinalysis, the supervising veterinarian immediately jumped to discussing emergency surgery and repeatedly referenced pyometra, despite me clearly stating multiple times that my dog is spayed. I had to ask for a urinalysis to be performed on my pet, but I was offered a thyroid panel, wellness plan, and ultrasound. I felt completely talked over and dismissed during the appointment. The vet spent less than a minute actually examining my dog before escalating to worst-case scenarios. What made the situation worse was the conflicting information from staff. After leaving my dog for testing, I received a phone call saying she would simply be prescribed antibiotics and could go home. When I arrived for pickup, I was suddenly told I should be prepared to rush her to an emergency vet that same night by a VA working at the front desk. The communication was inconsistent, confusing, and incredibly stressful. The vet did not even come out to discuss further details with me, I was left with two VAs telling me two completely different stories. The paperwork I was given upon discharge was incorrect, once again stating my dog was "in tact" when she was not. I called the office to speak to the veterinarian, hoping to get clarification. She raised her voice at me, interrupted me, and provided me with no guidance on what to do. Since leaving Banfield, I have made five different attempts to try and get my records and the names of everyone licensed that worked on my dog. They have blatantly ignored my requests, both in writing and over the phone. I understand vets have to consider serious possibilities, but there is a huge difference between being thorough and creating panic without adequate diagnostics or clear communication. I left feeling like no one was actually listening to me or carefully evaluating my dog as an individual patient. This place is a danger. The lack of communication between staff is a red flag, the careless paperwork mistakes are a symptom of a bigger issue, and the blatant unwillingness to admit a mistake is concerning. As I am writing this, I still have not received the forms I have requested, which is against state law. The situation has been escalated to the proper authorities, hopefully we can prevent this from happening to someone else. In the mean time, RUN away from this place.

The wellness plan was great for my dog! I had awesome experiences at the Tanglewood (San Felipe) Banfield location before, but they unfortunately closed down. This specific location is pretty terrible. The front desk/vet tech staff is always friendly and I can tell they want to be helpful. However, they always seem overbooked/understaffed and a little disorganized. It's always difficult to get someone on the phone without being on hold for 10-20 minutes. My dachshund had critical spine/disc issues last month and I made the mistake of taking him here for an exam. They had me drop him off for 4 hours before they told me they'd need to refer me to Gulf Coast; when I called Gulf Coast about an appointment they informed me that my dog's issue is an emergency vet appointment per their protocol and advised me to take him there immediately. I felt that Banfield wasted precious time and handled this situation terribly. In addition, the vet himself NEVER came out to speak to me about my dog or his observations (I only talked to reception staff and a vet tech that day). The vet waited over 12 hours to call me about it the next day and ask me whether I "ever took my dog to Gulf Coast." I actually have never met or talked to a vet at this location prior to his phone call. This Banfield office also called me/spoke to me 3 other times following this appointment about medication and never asked me how my dog was doing or if he was doing ok. I will not be renewing my wellness plan with Banfield and do not recommend ever taking your pet here for anything beyond preventive care/vaccines.
