Pet Services
Grant and Alex Huff have a combined 35 years experience training dogs to an advanced level for AKC hunt tests, duck hunting, and obedience. They both grew up in East Texas with a love for duck hunting and dogs, which eventually led them to a career working with dogs of all breeds. They love seeing dogs reach their full potential and bridging the knowledge gap between clients and their pets. Unlike many trainers, Grant and Alex do all of the training themselves, from start to finish. This ensures each dog is getting the most out of their time at One Shot Retrievers. Furthermore, they will spend a significant amount of time helping owners understand how to fairly correct and handle their dog once they take them home. One Shot Retrievers looks forward to working with you and your dog!

- CKChristine Kirklin3 days ago5.0I was very hesitant to send my beloved beagle to OSR. Friends told me I was being cruel to my dog and boy were they wrong. OSR gave me back a much better dog than I left with them six weeks ago. She is so much more manageable now which means freedom for her and freedom for me. I can let her play in the front yard as I watch her, and she immediately comes back to me when I give her the command. She no longer has to be on a leash when she plays in her own yard. Her only boundaries are set by my voice. I love the improvement! OSR has given both me and my dog, a new freedom with very definable boundaries. I’m surprised she didn’t come back to me with a gold medal around her neck for Most Improved because she was very intent & very focused on doing whatever she wanted before attending OSR. Thank you for giving both me and Daisy our freedom.

- AKAlexander KnowlesSep 17, 20265.0Alex and Grant are the best. They trained not just Bey but me too. My lab had real talent, and they brought it out in a big way. They kept me updated on Bey's progress the whole way through, patiently answered all my questions, and taught me how to handle such a smart, capable dog. Highly recommend.
- JTJim TarpleySep 13, 20265.0Alex & Grant are absolutely the best retriever trainers in the business. They have trained two labs for me, Eli, my rockstar, and Sam, my up-and-comer. Sandy and I could not have found better trainers for our pups!
- HHHeather HarrisonSep 9, 20265.0We had such a great experience with One Shot Retrievers! Our dog Oaklee attended their obedience training and gun dog program, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. Since coming home, she has been doing an amazing job following commands, walking without a leash, and fetch. You can really tell the time, and knowledge they put into their training. We are so impressed with her progress and feel like we have a much better-trained, more confident dog. We highly recommend One Shot Retrievers to anyone looking for quality, professional training! Thank you Alex!
