Grant and Alex Huff have a combined 35 years experience training dogs to an advanced level for AKC hunt tests, duck hunting, and obedience. They both grew up in East Texas with a love for duck hunting and dogs, which eventually led them to a career working with dogs of all breeds. They love seeing dogs reach their full potential and bridging the knowledge gap between clients and their pets. Unlike many trainers, Grant and Alex do all of the training themselves, from start to finish. This ensures each dog is getting the most out of their time at One Shot Retrievers. Furthermore, they will spend a significant amount of time helping owners understand how to fairly correct and handle their dog once they take them home. One Shot Retrievers looks forward to working with you and your dog!

- TPTravis Patterson2 days ago5.0Couldn't recommend OSR enough! Alex was quick to communicate and answer all my questions throughout the process. The land is beautiful where they train. And most importantly, our pup Gunni came back home a brand new dog! She's friendly, obedient, and just an overall joy to be around now. Will be sending as many friends that will listen their way (and once they see Gunni, they'll just know)!
- MJMerv Jones5 days ago5.0Left my dog, Alice, in the care of One Shot Retrievers for the six week course. When I got her back, she was a different dog - for the better. I cannot recommend them enough. The training is so ingrained that I no longer have to use the e-collar. The most impressive is the ‘here’ command. We were up in Michigan and my son in law has a big garden. One morning, Alice saw a deer, and took off. She did not have her e-collar on but I just shouted ‘here’ and she stopped in her tracks and came back to me. It doesn’t get any better than that.

Having owned dogs my whole life whether they were companions or gun dogs, they have been the best training facility and training I have ever experienced in my life. The facility is clean and looks like dog heaven, the amount of time that was given at pickup to understand the commands. I’m blown away. The extra amount of information and help afterwards as well is the best customer service. They truly care about your animal and I will be a customer for life. My next goal is to do trial dogs with the team. So thankful to know them.

While being without him for that long was difficult, it was absolutely the BEST decision! He left minding when he felt like it, jumping on guests, and counter surfing. He came back with immediate response to command and knowledge of consequences. I’d even say he’s more confident, loving and full of personality! We are better dog parents for it as well! Alex and Grant truly care about helping others build a better life with their pets!
