I also board them often when we go out of town, My oldest dog sketch gets excited when we arrive to barkerhaus. :) that should say everything. Highly recommend.
- MCMarsha CardenasMay 3, 20235.0I hardly know where to start. My dog was a stubborn ole man. Taking him on walks was a nightmare. He yanked at the leash, pulled me off my feet, aggressively barked and lunged toward others. It was awful and we never went out. I decided to go the Barker Haus and ask if they could help me. Celeste was my dog’s trainer and the results have been unbelievable! Celeste started with the absolute basics and was kind and gentle with both of us, but goodness did we learn. I discovered what I was doing wrong and think now, I also am much better trained :) My dog and I can walk side by side with a loose leash. He can ignore other dogs or politely sniff and greet. He doesn’t lunge or act aggressive towards others. It’s nothing short of a miracle. My only wish is I would’ve found Barker Haus and Celeste sooner. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

What vaccinations do dogs need for boarding?
Dogs must have current Rabies, DHLPP, and Bordatella vaccinations plus monthly flea and tick preventative. These requirements ensure the health and safety of all dogs in our facility.
How long does service dog training take?
Our service dog program consists of four 6-week courses covering Basic Obedience, Public Access, Canine Good Citizen, and Handler Certification. Specialized tasks may require additional training time.
Are the boarding kennels climate controlled?
Yes, all our kennels feature indoor/outdoor runs that are heated in winter and air conditioned in summer. The outdoor sections are covered for shade and weather protection.
Can you train my own dog for service work?
Yes, we can train your personal dog as long as they pass our temperament test and meet the criteria for required service tasks. A doctor's statement is needed to start the program.
What's included in basic obedience training?
Dogs learn to walk quietly on leash without pulling, sit when you stop, sit-stay for one minute, down-stay for three minutes, and come when called around distractions.
Do you offer military discounts?
Yes, we provide a 10% discount on boarding services for all active duty and retired military personnel as well as law enforcement officers. Proper identification is required.
Can aggressive dogs be boarded here?
Yes, we can accommodate aggressive dogs with an additional charge of $5.00 per day. Our experienced staff knows how to safely handle and care for challenging dogs.
What types of service dogs do you train?
We train PTSD and emotional support dogs, wheelchair assistance, hearing and sight assistance, seizure dogs, and retrieval assistance dogs. Each type requires specialized training protocols.
How do you establish pack leadership during training?
We teach owners that dogs need clear pack hierarchy and non-negotiable rules. Training focuses on establishing you as pack leader through consistent boundaries in house, yard, and car.
When can I visit to see the kennel facilities?
Kennel viewing hours are Monday through Friday from 4-6 PM. This allows prospective clients to tour our climate-controlled facilities and large exercise areas before booking.
