- MFMike FlannaganJun 29, 20261.0I went to Petsmart to look for and possibly pick up tick, flea and mite medication for a new cat we adopted. Since the vet was right there and not busy, I thought it would be a great idea to ask a professional a few questions regarding when to use OTC products or if I should bring my cat into this clinic. The individual was over overzealous and rude, stating that is illegal for a vet to give ANY medical advice about treating anything for a pet, saying that it could make them liable, without initial checkups and to pay for a visit. Then in a condescending tone she attempted to belittle me, saying "in fact, it's against the law for ANY doctor to give medical advice to ANYONE who isn't a patient". I simply replied, "no that's definitely NOT true, especially if it's about a OTC product recommendation". I do NOT recommend going into a place where they instantly treat you like garbage. I was very polite using ma'am, patient and making sure I didn't say anything rude, spiteful or being pushy in any manner. I can understand if someone is having a bad day, but making up lies about laws for answering well known and common questions for pet care, is just unprofessional for a vet technician. This vet clinic just lost 5 clients due to this incident and hopefully more due to unprofessional behavior.

They “snuck” me and my somewhat feral cat into an examination room where we did the check-in/out process as well as the exam and treatment. That digital check in/out was a bonus! It was great!

They were unbelievably kind and gave us as much time as we needed and even let us bring our other dog to say goodbye. This meant more than they could ever know, it has not been an easy transition for us but making his transition easier has made our grief a little lighter. 🩵🐾

What is an Optimum Wellness Plan?
Optimum Wellness Plans are designed to provide annual preventive care. They include head-to-tail exams, vaccines, early screening diagnostics, consultations for proper nutrition, dental care and more! Since wellness plans are not insurance, they do not include treatment for unpredictable or abnormal conditions, however discounts would apply. Because pets need ongoing preventive care, wellness plans automatically renew at the end of each twelve month period (unless paid in full at enrollment).
How do I pay for an Optimum Wellness Plan?
You can spread the cost of your wellness plan across the 12 months of your annual agreement to make it easier to budget for the essential health care your pet needs. Your monthly payments can be automatically withdrawn from a checking or savings account or charged to a credit card so that you don’t have to worry about them once you enroll. We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.

• In-room appointments: You and your pet visit the vet together. Please arrive a few minutes before your appointment time
• Drop-off appointments: If you have a drop-off appointment, we will communicate a time to drop off your pet. Keep your phone nearby and we’ll call you when your pet is ready for pickup.
