  Dr. Shutts is horrific! She is gruff, and has no bedside manner. She barks the information at you and speaks in a matter of fact tone that really has no place when dealing with people. She obviously has no passion for what she does! She was speaking poorly about me to her staff and i could hear her through the door talking trash about me and my decisions for my animals. Judging me because I said we needed more medicine that it was running out too soon. So unprofessional!! I just spent over $500 to be barked at and then judged and spoken poorly about!! What a disgrace. Banefield used to be a decent place but not anymore! I’ve been going to Banefield longer than this girl “doctor” has been out of medical school!! She should be ashamed of herself! Banefield really needs to reevaluate their standards of care!! It’s like they are only in it for the money!! Im so disappointed in banefield lately!! Beware going to this location or any at this point!!

  I brought my very sick kitten, Zell, to Banfield when he was extremely weak and I was genuinely afraid I was going to lose him. I do want to be fair about one thing: the veterinarian did work with me regarding my budget, and I appreciate that she tried to take my financial limitations into consideration. My concern isn't that she didn't try to help me—it is the cost I was quoted for the recommended care. I was quoted upwards of $1,000 for fluids and a CBC. At the time, I was already terrified about my kitten's condition, and that amount was simply overwhelming. What made the situation particularly frustrating was that I was subsequently able to get Zell the same treatment, along with additional testing, for approximately $300 elsewhere. That is a very significant difference, and it left me questioning how the original estimate could have been so much higher. Zell is still recovering, but one week later I'm finally seeing my kitten coming back. He's eating on his own, demanding food, grooming himself, running around, climbing, purring, exploring, and generally getting back to being the little troublemaker I know and love. I'm very grateful that my kitten is improving, but I can't honestly attribute that improvement to Banfield. My experience left me feeling extremely frustrated during one of the most frightening situations I've ever experienced as a pet owner. I understand that veterinary care is expensive, and I understand that different clinics have different pricing. What I don't understand is the enormous difference between what I was quoted and what I ultimately paid elsewhere for comparable treatment plus additional testing. I hope Banfield will take a hard look at how these estimates are presented to pet owners, particularly when they're dealing with a very sick animal and trying desperately to find a way to afford care.

  We’ve been clients at Banfeild Pet Hospital for about 10 years and they used to be so much better than they are now! It seems there’s always miscommunication no one ever calls to remind you of your check ups anymore. The doctor failed to put notes in the system. It really causes an inconvenience when you live 35 minutes outside of town and make drives for absolutely no reason and they have no fear or care If you will take your business elsewhere. It just does not matter to them. It’s very sad after such a long period of being a customer that they would not care to retain business.
