  I took my mini poodle to Petco for a feet and fanny. We have been going to Petco for almost five years and every groomer understands when I explain to them they can’t walk Bibi on the leash they use because she pulls and jumps very high. The groomer, Juanita, said she needed to use the leash for the actual grooming but that she would walk her back to me on Bibi’s harness and leash. I waited there since feet and fanny only take a few minutes and the groomer walked Bibi back to me with the Petco leash and she pulled and jumped like I warned her she would. Bibi was choking so badly my husband had to jump the counter and grab her. She was gasping for air and continued to gasp for air on the car ride. I warned the groomer and this is the first time someone at Petco has done something like this as they usually understand that certain dogs pull and poodles jump very high. I felt the need to report this as my dog could have died. I won’t be coming back but I don’t want this happening to another dog as it only takes one time. Please do better Petco with making sure your groomers have experience or at least listen to the owners. They weren’t busy that day it wasn’t hectic there is absolutely no excuse for such carelessness.

  I had a great service here a few months ago and I had been very satisfied. We had had a chat with the groomer (Shawna) and she had assured me that they will not be taking scissors anywhere near my dog’s coat since that would damage it irreparably (Great Pyrenees have a double layered coat that helps them thermoregulate) Today I left my dog there for her second grooming. Allison asked if I wanted a deshedding and then we agreed on that and shampoo. There was no talk of clipping or cutting hair. Everything looked good when I came back to take her …. Until we got home, when I noticed that the fur on her entire belly seems to have been clipped! I am terrified! Irreparably damaged! She already struggles a lot in the texas heat and I am very concerned this would possibly make it worse! It is true that today I didn’t explicitly instruct to not cut (shame on me) but I can’t believe a professional groomer wouldn’t know this is bad for such dogs and at least ask in doubt. I am extremely disappointed!

  Shawna is amazing. I don't trust anyone else with my dog. She gives him a great cut every time and even noticed he had an ear infection once that I had not noticed. His vet and I were both grateful to her for being so observant. She's great with him!
