Website says they have appointments available all day, every day This weekend. I made an appointment for today and called to make sure I could still show up if I wasn't able to get that records, because she needs to be seen today. The lady informs me that their system is wrong and they are completely booked up until Monday.. then, another person called me to tell me the exact same thing Within four minutes after I hung up with the first person. Take your online scheduling down. Stop Letting people make an actual appointment and then calling them to tell them that you do not In fact, have the 45 appointment slots that were available on your website.

I don't hold this against the employees of this Banfield but I do want to give anyone with a vet appointment today a heads up, especially if like me, you had an appointment for a scheduled cat spay. Their computer systems are down and they can't do any surgeries or appointments today. This was a major hassle for me this morning. My cat already has to take copious amounts of gabapentin to be sedated enough for the vets to see. They also instructed I couldn't feed her last night in preparation for her spay today. So she's starving. Getting her to take her meds isn't easy so I'm bleeding from some scratches as to be expected. I took time off work to make sure I could drop off her at 8am as scheduled today only to be told that sorry, they can't see her today because the system is down. So all of my hard work getting my cat to the vet on time was useless and they don't know when the system will be back up again.
They didn't have access to the clients/patients phone numbers to warn us not to bother preparing or coming in so I learned at the reception desk at drop off today July 22, 2026. Please keep in mind that I confirmed this appointment 3 or 4 different times both via phone and email when they sent me numerous notices. I would like to humbly suggest Banfield have a separate database so when this happens they have access to their confirmed appointments and can reach out to us to let us know we don't need to starve out pets in prep for surgery or have a huge stressful medicine situation and car trip. The system crashed 2 days ago and that notice would have been enough notice to stop the majority of the trouble this caused for me as a paying wellness member.
Again, not faulting the staff who probably suffer a lot dealing with the corporate inadequacies of Banfield. But this really should be addressed. I feel ripped off and pretty annoyed.
Please get it together Banfield. I pay $80 a month faithfully for your wellness plan and y'all make it so hard to even have my cat come in. Now after all this preparation this morning she is still not spayed. Since she is not spayed she cant hang out and meet with other cats and be properly socialized. She is literally stuck with me 24/7 and no one deserves that if they can avoid it. 😂
Update on 8/31/26 This was the very next appointment they could get for Toku to get spayed. I took it. I confirmed it like 3 different times. I starved my pet cat from 10pm the night before, her last meal was a spoonful of wet food with gabapentin and then I woke up early, continued to starve my cat, gave her more gabapentin and we both arrived 15 mins early to her scheduled dro off time at Banfield. She was very calm. Very chill. Vet tech walks in and she hisses dramatically asap. But still calm. I do the drop off and go back home. About 2 hrs later I get a call from the vet saying she is not sedated enough. He said I can either postpone the spay and give her more meds and try again in a month or two when they have another appointment opening or I can let them give her a strong sedative shot. I said ok, do the shot. He gave the shot and then about an hour later called me to say it wasn't working. That she still isn't sedated enough. He says they can't do the spay today now. I say I will come get her then because she is starving and stressed. They said they need to observe her for a couple hours. So once again I have starved my pet cat per their instructions, forced sedatives on her for no reason and to top it off they charged me almost $90 for the shot that didn't work when I came to get her. Salt in the wound. Keep in mind I just paid the $80 bill last paycheck. I have paid for the premium cat wellness plan for past 8 months and of the vet appointments I was able to make I was turned away from about half of them.

Brought my cat who requires drugs( a whole stressful process) to keep him calm for a teeth cleaning and it got canceled I learned when I arrived . They were supposed to do others things like a nail trim and an exam and only when I picked him up in the afternoon did I learn that they had done nothing! It was upsetting.
