This vet is a joke, our dog had surgery there for glass removal ($900)and they left a 1.5 INCH PIECE OF GLASS IN HER. We called and asked if they would make it right, not for a refund, but simply cover the $200 bill we had to pay to get this removed AGAIN, and they were very disrespectful and said it wasn’t their problem??? Also one of the vet techs is on the spectrum and freaked out from my 30lb dog barking at him while she was bleeding like hell with glass in her. This place is an absolute joke and I would NOT recommend.
*attached is the piece of glass they left in our dog*

My pigeon Freida would not be with me today had it not been for Andes-Straley. Freida was regurgitating seed over and over again. It seemed endless, they took an x-ray and ran some bloodwork and it turned out Freida had lead poisoning. We went to UT to have the piece that she swallowed removed and she needed 7 consecutive days of treatment every 12 hours on the dot. The staff met with us each morning and night to make sure Freida got the medications she needed and my husband and I will always be grateful for their love and care for Freida.

Warning. Do not take your pets here.My dog had glass from a vase in her leg, they charged me almost $900 for surgery and every time I went back (they wanted me back every few days to rewrap the wound and then charged me again). 6 months later, a huge (1” long .5” wide) glass was sticking out of the same injury (looked like a shark fin, how could they leave it in my dog?) My dog was running a fever from infection. We took her to another vet who was so caring and kind, literally charged me 80% less than these heartless people. I called and asked Andes-Straley to pay the new vet bill since they left a large piece of glass IN my dog and they said that wasn’t their problem. The surgery involved anesthesia so there should have been no glass left in her. The male veterinarian stated that they couldn’t be expected to pay for this “new injury” even though they did not completely remove all the glass and it was in the exact SAME area they did the surgery. In a larger city with more competition, they would be out of business. Also, the male vet is very arrogant and unprofessional, who wears an ammo/gun shirt to work as a doctor? There are Way better vets out there people, do your research!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Andes and the entire team at Andes and Straley Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Andes has cared for my pugs for more than 20 years, and throughout that time has consistently provided the highest level of veterinary care, compassion, and dedication. Over the past two years, my beloved pug Katie has faced several serious medical challenges, and I truly believe she has done so well because of the exceptional care she has received from Dr. Andes and his staff. When Katie required emergent surgery for a urinary bladder stone, Dr. Andes acted quickly and skillfully, and her recovery was remarkable. This year alone, Katie has been hospitalized twice, once for pancreatitis and again for a fecal impaction. Both situations were frightening, but Dr. Andes and his team provided the absolute best care imaginable, treating Katie as if she were their own pet and ensuring she received the attention and medical expertise she needed to recover.
The level of compassion throughout the hospital is unmatched. Holly, the office manager, is simply amazing. She always checks on Katie, keeps me updated, and genuinely cares about her well-being. The licensed veterinary technicians are phenomenal, knowledgeable, compassionate, and incredibly attentive. The front office staff are equally outstanding, and I especially want to recognize Mindy and Lexy, who have become very dear to me over the years. Their kindness, warmth, and professionalism make every visit a positive experience, even during stressful circumstances.
It is rare to find a veterinary practice that combines such exceptional medical expertise with genuine compassion and personal connection. After more than two decades of trusting Dr. Andes with my pugs' care, I can say without hesitation that Andes and Straley Veterinary Hospital is the very best. I am forever grateful to Dr. Andes, Holly, the veterinary technicians, Mindy, Lexy, and the entire staff for the incredible care they have provided to Katie and my family. They have earned my highest recommendation and my deepest appreciation. ❤️🐾
