  LOTS of dead fish in the tanks. This should be a very large concern. It’s not like just one died and they didn’t catch it, I mean there’s at least 15 fish dead just floating around or getting pushed around by other fish. Absolutely horrid. Makes me very concerned for the other animals there. I do appreciate the employees kindness and helpfulness though. They gave solid advice on cat products and even gave me a free treat.

  This petco has tons for reptiles that are in the wrong environment and should be looked at. The frogs humidity was sitting at 20% as well as the chameleons and one of the chameleons had black marks indicated a high stress environment and they had zero water dripping with they need. The. Baby bearded dragons were so hungry one was hitting the glass trying to eat a fly that was in the store and another one had a issue on its mouth like a growth, and another bearded dragon had respiratory infection.

  Petco Cordova where pets for sale go to die My wife and I recently visited the Petco in Cordova and were absolutely appalled by the neglect and poor conditions of their “for sale” reptiles. For context we have over a dozen reptiles and we frequent both major chains for food and supplies but this was bordering on ASPCA level neglect. The bearded dragons lacked UVB UVA… in fact all the reptiles, snakes included, were in the dark with only “heat” lamps. Reptile educated enthusiasts know that improper lighting can lead to permanent developmental deformities - particularly with beardies - and improper lighting as a whole directly effects all reptiles’ ability to metabolize food or even have appetite for that matter. If this venue cannot properly care for these small helpless creatures, they should not be carrying or selling them. Either provide humane and sufficient care for them or relocate them to a store or rescue that can. Do better. PS no stars was not an option.
