  I had a very disappointing experience at Petco. I asked to purchase four small feeder fish that were only $0.29 each, but I was told I could only purchase one. I was honestly confused by this policy, especially considering the circumstances. While in the store, I also noticed several animal-care concerns that were difficult to overlook. There was a Russian tortoise being fed fruit, which should only be offered as an occasional treat and not as a regular part of its diet. The scorpion was housed in an extremely small enclosure and appeared to be curled up in the corner. The conure appeared very stressed, with its feathers noticeably ruffled. The ferret's enclosure was also visibly dirty and had a very strong odor. As a certified veterinary technician, I have professional knowledge and experience with proper animal care, so it was particularly concerning to see these conditions. I understand that working in a pet store can be challenging, but these animals depend on staff to provide appropriate care and a healthy environment. I hope management will take these concerns seriously and review the care and housing provided to the animals in the store.

  The girls at the Cleveland, TN Petco Grooming, Rose and Bailey, are the absolute best! Both are equally professional and do a fantastic job with my two dogs Buster and Rufus, who are not the best doggies when it comes to grooming. They handle both dogs well and both come out beautiful! I told Bailey today that I hope her and Rose are there forever! Thank you is never enough for these two special groomers. Clean, professional, courteous, timely and very sweet ladies.   I get better, friendlier, customer service here than from that other pet store across the street. Associates are professional and helpful at this Petco location.

  Terrible customer service and rude employee upset my child My 11-year-old daughter and I went to the Petco in Cleveland, TN looking for a few small goldfish for her new 5-gallon tank. She was excited about the ones priced at 29 cents each and picked out three. I had to walk the entire store before finding two employees cleaning an animal cage. They were in the middle of a personal conversation and looked annoyed when I asked for help. The girl with pink hair told me "I'll be over in a minute" in a very dismissive tone. We waited several minutes. When she finally showed up at the fish tanks, she asked about our tank size and then told my daughter that keeping these small goldfish in a 5-gallon tank would cut 15 years off their lives and that they would eventually "implode" because their organs would outgrow their skin. All while scooping fish out of a tank that had almost a dozen dead ones in it. She was rude and completely unnecessary with the graphic details in front of a child. My daughter left the store very upset. I later looked up the facts and the employee was straight-up lying about the fish "imploding." I had to explain to my little girl that the lady was just being mean. Zero reason for that kind of behavior toward a kid. Do better, Petco.
