Nice tech, super sweet but the exam room was so dirty. HVAC dust down the walls, coating of dust on every surface you could write clean me in it. Calcified water fountain. Coffee machine with dust and stains. Floating hair in the air. I started sneezing and coughing and was told they could give me a Benadryl or i could wait outside. I’m typically not a fussy person but after politely dealing with all that for over a hour stepping outside multiple times to calm my allergies, they took 20 minutes to release my dogs to me after I said I wanted to just lay and go and skip the vet as I would not be back.

Dangerous Neglect, Disorganization, and Zero Accountability We were loyal clients at Banfield for about three years between this location North Myrtle and Wilmington, but the level of care has steadily collapsed. What happened recently in North Myrtle was completely unacceptable and put my dog’s health at serious risk. My dog depends on a vital daily medication. They ran bloodwork specifically to adjust his dosage, but then failed to approve the new prescription for 10 full days. Meanwhile, his previous supply ran out completely. Every single time I called to follow up, the staff seemed utterly clueless about what dosage he was on. Techs kept leaving "notes for the doctor," but nothing moved. It took daily phone calls and eventually threatening to report them to the state veterinary board just to get someone to pay attention. According to their own techs, the vet was away, making it clear they don't even have a consistent, full-time doctor on site to handle urgent medical approvals. To top it off, two weeks after this whole ordeal—and after we officially pulled our records to switch to a new clinic—the doctor finally called us back pretending to check on "what the confusion was." The lack of communication, internal disorganization, and total disregard for a pet running out of essential medicine is appalling. We’re done with this location and strongly recommend taking your pets somewhere that actually prioritizes animal care over corporate chaos.

After being loyal Banfield clients since 2020, we've decided to move all of our pets to another veterinary practice due to repeated communication failures and poor follow-through. Our cat was once left at the clinic for over eight hours without anyone contacting us about the delay. More recently, we were told he needed surgery to remove a mass in his ear, but no one ever called to schedule it or even followed up about his care. When our new veterinarian requested our pets' medical records twice, those requests went unanswered. We eventually had to make multiple phone calls ourselves, and my husband had to leave work and drive to the clinic just to obtain copies of the records. I filed a formal complaint with Banfield corporate, who assured me someone would contact me within 3–5 business days. That deadline came and went without any response, which unfortunately reflects the same lack of communication that led to the complaint in the first place. This review isn't based on one bad day—it's based on a pattern of poor communication, lack of accountability, and failure to follow through. I hope management takes steps to improve so other pet owners don't have the same experience. Update: Banfield replied asking me to email them — the same email I already used when they didn’t respond the first time. This feels more like an attempt to look responsive publicly than to actually resolve anything. My concerns remain unaddressed, and my experience stands exactly as described.
