I went earlier to find a wet food that my new kitten would like as he hasn’t really eaten since he was adopted. i asked brooke for help and suggestions and she was MORE than helpful. she gave me numerous options and i grabbed a few for trial and error, and of course one of the first ones she suggested was the winner. he actually ate!!! brooke was so friendly and so helpful and if you go to this location i highly recommend asking for her for any assistance. Troy rang us out and he was SOOO friendly and personable as well. I highly recommend this location for all your furry friends needs!!

2 stars because the young girl working the front actually tried helping..
-3 because the store manager doesn’t care about customers at all. I sat around for 5-10 minutes in line waiting for someone. She walks up with another employee and sees a line of people and turns and walks away without saying a word acting like she didn’t see anyone. The one employee tried helping fine my online order and it was nowhere to be found ofc. The manager comes to out with an attitude to the face and all and doesn’t even say anything. Once she had to speak with me it was all fake smile and all. I would hate to have to work with a manager that expect you to do everything by yourself while they sit in an office. I would def like a hire up to look into her bc that was ridiculous customer service on her end. Doesn’t work as a team whatsoever. Will definitely be going to Petsmart

Went to the Petco in Surfside, SC....to look around for reptile Items and was very appalled at what we witnessed... Them having two chameleons in the same tank. You cannot put two Chameleons in the same tank!! One of the Chameleons definitely needs to see a vet... Because his right eye , which would be you're left.. while looking at them ... his eye was sunk in and he could not open it! Therefore , making it hard for him to find food or navigate his terrarium. Then on the way out, I was looking at thier Betta fish and I counted at least 7 to 9 dead...and many others very sickly. Also the mice and rat cages very filthy as well as the bird cages...and 2 white rats with very thin hair on thier backs!! About the Cleanest part of the store was the restrooms. But, Sadly the Animals and fish are not getting the best treatment or care!! Will never buy anything from this store!! If I could give them the zero stars , I would!

I have spent thousands of dollars at this Pet Store. It’s not new to me and I’ve had great experience with the saltwater people in this store but my son just got approved from his mother to go and pick up a hamster and get a cage and bedding, etc., probably $200 worth of money and they literally looked at me and told me that they can’t take care of us today because there’s only two people in the store remind you there’s four customers so I don’t understand why two people can’t take care of four people especially when you’re in groups my personal opinion go find out for yourself but PetSmart right across the street. That’s all I have to say and they have never done anything like that.

I am absolutely infuriated with this store. I called on Saturday afternoon and asked if they accepted walk ins and I was told yes, however, there maybe a 20 to 30 minute wait. OK great, or so I thought. I go in on Sunday morning when they open and I'm told they dont accept walk ins at all. So once again I was denied services for my dog. Back a few months ago while visiting from out of town, as we are not local residents of this community, I was also denied services because I did not have his proof of shots with me at the time. Now I can totally understand that denial as that is a requirement and I did not call ahead for requirements. But, this time going back on what was said really irritates me. I am sure that the local community is what keeps your business going but its the tourist and out of town guests they keep the city you are in thriving. I have left petco this morning once again after being denied a simple bath, my GSP does not need a haircut just a simple bath from being on the beach. I WILL NEVER WALK INTO THIS STORE EVER AGAIN. So if I need some pet supplies dont worry there's Marshall's, petsmart, Walmart and target. Thanks petco for turning away my sweet dog once again because it is the last time I will walk in your door.
