I am extremely disappointed with the care and customer service I received at this Banfield Pet Hospital location.
My cat was recently seen at this location for urinary issues. His visit felt rushed, and based on what has happened since, I do not believe he was properly assessed. He was prescribed medication that he ultimately did not need, and his condition continued to worsen.
Earlier this week, I called this location because he was showing the same concerning symptoms. I waited approximately 45 minutes before my call was answered. I specifically asked the front desk receptionist multiple times whether I should bring him in to be evaluated because he was exhibiting the same symptoms as before. I was told that I could not bring him in until the veterinarian returned two days later. I was also told that a note would be left for the veterinarian to call me first thing the following morning.
I followed those instructions. Unfortunately, my cat’s condition deteriorated, and he is now at an emergency veterinary hospital receiving the care he needs. I am now facing potentially thousands of dollars in emergency veterinary expenses for a situation that I believe should have been taken more seriously earlier in the week.
I went to this Banfield location today to explain what happened and express my concerns. Rather than taking responsibility or acknowledging that I had specifically been told it was okay to wait until the veterinarian returned, the manager told me that I “should have just brought him in” or taken him to an emergency vet. That response was extremely frustrating and completely disregarded the guidance I was given by their own staff.
I understand that veterinary medicine can be complicated and that not every diagnosis is straightforward. However, what is unacceptable to me is being told by the staff that my pet could wait, only to have his condition worsen and ultimately require emergency care.
The communication, customer service, and handling of this situation were extremely disappointing. I no longer feel comfortable trusting this location with my pet’s care, and I will not be bringing my cat back here.
I strongly encourage pet owners to advocate for their animals and seek a second opinion or emergency care if they feel something isn’t right, rather than relying solely on the guidance I received from this location.

Service has not been a good experience here lately. During visits specified health concerns have been overlooked, then addressed at end of appointment. Instructions on what number to call when my pet was ready for pick up was clearly given. Wrong number was called and he sat up there all day. Specific meds were ordered for my dog, no notification was made to me letting me know the meds were obtained. I happened to call, oh yeah the meds are in. Someone will be calling you the following day before 5 to schedule his appointment. I have yet to receive that phone call which was initially a week ago! I tried to call yesterday only to be put on hold and never gotten back to. I tried to call back at 4:27pm no no luck. The last time I tried was at 4:50 and the recording said this office is closed, no one available!

What is an Optimum Wellness Plan?

You can spread the cost of your wellness plan across the 12 months of your annual agreement to make it easier to budget for the essential health care your pet needs. We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.
What kind of appointment do I have?
• In-room appointments: You and your pet visit the vet together. Please arrive a few minutes before your appointment time
