I had Sarah Thompson come to euthanize my 29 year old pony. I was appalled by the way she treated him. She stuck him with a needle multiple times and he jumped, of course, and she would yell at him for doing so. She finally decided to shave his pony coat to try and find the correct place to put the needle. Here I am putting down a pony I had for over 25 years and she treated him horribly!! It was a horrific experience. The gentleman that was there to bury him for me witnessed this as well and couldn't believe it. He stated he would never attend another if she were involved. I called the office right away to let them know my experience and it fell on deaf ears. I will not use this vet office again.

Disappointed in my experience from front staff to vet. care. On Jan 16th Dr Lindsay came out after i called the office to schedule a lameness exam/eval...my horse has some conformational concerns I wanted addressed to discuss proper shoeing/management, however has had no clinical signs of lameness, simply have some conformational flaws... when Dr Lindsay came out the call switched from lameness to neuro...(and mind you i have a very swingy gaited TWH) i had NEVER had any neuro concerns this is not why I called. I have had this horse since end of July his behavior, has not changed, no swelling anywhere no lamness, no spook, concern of abnormal function or any neuro concerns on my end whatsoever however adamant that he in her words "doesn't seem lame however im concerned about his hind end and he seems neurologic, due to ataxic gait" on site neuro exam was done, never seemed to track with neuro concerns, however if one is not familiar with a swingy hind end or walky trident on these TWH bred for showring it is "different"..nonetheless I proceeded and allowed an EPM titer, I was told that I would have the results by the end of the following week and that I would recieve an itemized receipt by the end of the day before the card was processed...I had no idea what the total cost would be but had an estimate i was told a specific price for the titer.my card was not processed until Wed the following week where I then recieved the itemized bill at the same time . Fee for titer was $70 higher than i was quoted...I called on friday Jan 23 to clarify billing and to ask results of the titer...I was told someone would call me back...no one did... on Monday Jan 27th called again, whomever i spoke with at the front desk said " well unfortunately your quote was wrong and if we had the results someone would call you" said they would relay my message to someone in lab to find out if they had results, was called back and a messaged left that, the "lab in KY was closed due to the weather so they will try again" by mid day today Jan 27th...Now 11 days post bloodwork I called the lab in KY which in fact was open and was told they" couldn't give me the results but my vet has had the results since Jan 21st" so I called AGAIN was told the vet would have to call me and they didn't understand why she hadn't yet..Dr Lindsay finally called around 3:45 pm jan 27th and stated the results were negative for EPM which I fully expected being that my horse isnt nor hasn't expressed any neurologic concerns and asked me how id like to proceed...I reminded her that she herself stated he "didnt seem lame" but is aware of conformational concerns that COULD cause lameness but she was adamant about neuro tests instead....so at this point with the poor experience, and run around, and stress of waiting for neuro results thats they have had in their posession for days without calling me with result..if I had any further concerns id simply get another opinion elsewhere. I KNOW this is "THE OFFICE" for lameness...have never had anything but positive experience with Dr Carter but with the poor organization, lack of care and mis information I unfortunately will likely not continue care here. Im not a vet I trusted her opinion, thankfully he isnt EPM positive but I called for a lameness eval and guidance and im in the same boat i was before all of this and out $500 ..I still do not understand why results have been in their hands since Jan 21 and I the client have had to track these down ...I still do not know why Dr Lindsay quoted a 70$ lower price for titer than I was charged ...I have recieved no explanation, extremely frustrated, this has caused a great deal of stress for neuro concerns which were never my concern to begin with..simply disappointed from start to finish... i feel that the inexperience of understanding the non racking gait in the TWH was greatly mis judged in this case..and not addressing my questions of conformational concerns were disappointing, I spent a large amount of money with my actual questions/ concerns not addressed.
