I've been taking my dog to Banfield, since I adopted him from a rescue litter. He'll be five in August. At the time, Banfield was one of the only veterinarians I could easily book, in the early post-COVID landscape. I enrolled Kobe in their wellness plan and it has been relatively easy from a set-it-and-forget standpoint. Two yearly checkups. Routine vaccinations. I haven't really done a cost-benefit analysis, since it's just been easy. It's easy to book him for any appointments. The downside is the impersonal feeling of the visits. I generally feel Kobe receives good care, and the staff generally seems caring and knowledgable. However, Banfield often feels like a big business, as opposed to the independent local veterinarian I used to take my cat to. At first, I didn't like the drop-off check-ups, but I learned to look at them as an opportunity to run some errands or handle other things on my to-do list. The appointments were generally pretty quick, but sometimes they aren't. I dropped off Kobe for a routine check-up on June 16th at 10:15. We had to wait a good bit in a room for a vet tech to see us. I had some things to do and after I finished them, I just kept killing time out in that area. Eventually, I returned to Banfield a bit after 5:00 because they close at 6:00. They forgot to call me. They "couldn't" tell me when they'd finished Kobe's visit and chalked up forgetting to call to a busy day. It was sad to think of Kobe proabbly just waiting there unnecessarily for the majority of the day. It's certainly the kind of thing that makes me think I should do that cost-benefit analysis and consider canceling the wellness program and go back to my old vet. I'm sure there are hoops to jump through to cancel. Essentially, the big business side of Banfield provides its benefits: ease of scheduling, the routine things included in the program, a decent app that is good for scheduling and downloading records, etc. But the big business side also creates that impersonal feeling that sometimes makes me think I'd be better off returning to my old local independent veterinarian. If I stick with Banfield, I'll certainly call, if something similar happens again. Although, that seems like a something a customer shouldn't have to do. And it's worth noting, things have mostly run smoother in the past.

Dr. Reinoso and the staff are the absolute best and kindest people you could entrust the care of your animal to. We discovered our cat had hyperthyroidism a couple months ago and they worked so diligently with us to try and get the issue under control but unfortunately our efforts were unsuccessfully. Dr. Reinoso went above and beyond for us on our last visit as our cat’s condition was deteriorating calling specialists and getting all the information she could for us so that we could make the best and most informed decision on the care of our little guy. There is no other place I would bring my pets to, they truly care for your animal as if they were their own.

One star since 0 isnt an option. The receptionist is very rude no only to me but also my boy. I had scheduled a neuter for 7am and then ONCE I WAS SITTING IN THE PARKING LOT they called me and said i had to rescedule it. So i rescheduled and i went a week later and i was told a total that morning when i went to pick him up i was told a different total $40 more than what i was originally told. sat in the waiting room for 45 minutes after the hour drive there and he still wasnt ready! the receptionist threw my my dogs leash at another worker and kicked my dog as she ran out the door and as i was sitting in the waiting room everyone that called she was very rude to and had an attitude the whole time. Save you time, money, and safefy of you pet and go to a different vet.
