⭐☆☆☆☆ I have spent months trusting Banfield with my cat Shay’s care while she battled severe stomatitis, underwent full-mouth extractions, and continued to struggle with pain and eating issues. What happened at my final visit was unacceptable. We had a scheduled 10:30 a.m. in-room appointment with Dr. John. We waited approximately two hours. During that time, my cat was taken from the room and kept in the treatment area. Because Shay had not been eating normally, I specifically asked the technician to weigh her because I was concerned she had lost weight. Despite being taken from the room, Shay was never examined. She was not weighed. At no point during those two hours did Dr. John come into the room to evaluate her. While we sat waiting, I watched the veterinarian spend significant time with other clients while our appointment came and went. Meanwhile, my sick cat remained in the treatment area without being examined. The only time I saw the veterinarian was when she entered the room holding an Against Medical Advice form and told me that Shay needed to go to an emergency hospital. What makes this even more frustrating is that I had previously received a text message from the same veterinarian explaining that they had another stomatitis patient who underwent full-mouth extractions, continued to have pain, and remained on long-term prednisone treatment. Because of that conversation, I expected a discussion about treatment options. Instead, I was told to seek care elsewhere. To make matters worse, the medical record from that visit states that Shay was not examined. If my cat was never examined, why were we there for nearly two hours? Why was she taken from the room? Why wasn’t she even weighed when I specifically requested it? Why was an Against Medical Advice form already prepared? I understand that emergency referrals are sometimes necessary. What I do not understand is waiting hours with a sick cat, leaving without an examination, and then reading documentation that does not match my experience of what occurred that day. My cat was suffering. I was scared and trying to advocate for her. Instead of receiving help, I felt dismissed, ignored, and treated as though our time and concerns did not matter. Pet owners deserve accurate documentation, honest communication, and a veterinarian who is willing to evaluate their pet before deciding there is nothing that can be done.

This star is for dr. John she was very unprofessional with a bad attitude for no reason. Definitely never coming here again. Definitely never trusting anyone that has a bad attitude with my loved one. However, the rest of the staff were amazing!

Needed an appointment last minute for a minor health problem my dog was experiencing. I am from out of town and a new patient. Took me in and were so kind. Tended to my dog and answered my questions very patiently. Thank you so much!

Made an Appointment as a first time visit for my new puppy for just an over all we’ll visit and had a HORRIBLEEEEE experience with Dr Alexandra John. Found her very rude and argumentative!! In the beginning of the visit she practically ripped my puppy’s records out of my hand and questioned everything I had to say. The tech was very nice and answered my questions but seemed like the doctor wasn’t listening to her and what I had explained in the beginning of the visit. Tried to tell me I had to restart all my puppy’s vaccines if I didn’t do everything that day and that was most definitely invalid and wrong as I reached out the rescue myself to confirm and previous work history working in a vet for over 2 years I knew better. Practically dismissed me and cutting me off told me I wasn’t listening to her and walked out the room and never came back in. Will never be bringing my puppy there again!
