Love the Meowhaus! We rely on it every time we go out of town for 5+ days. They are truly cat people who love being around the cats and take great care of them. I love that the cats get stimulation from the bird area behind each room and get to come out once per day to visit and stretch their legs. I try and book the Sun Room or larger rooms to have some more space for my indoor/outdoor cat while I'm gone. Plus, I have the staff clip his nails so they're nice and manageable when he comes home.

This place was a life saver. All of the cat boarding facilities around me south of Salem were booked, except for those that I wouldn’t use. It took my baby a day or two to settle in, but she liked the people and after the first couple of days she started eating again, which is always a good thing! I was recommend this facility 100%!!

They sent me photos and updates, let me know how she was settling in and if she was eating and using the litterbox. She enjoyed watching the birds. I could rest easy knowing they were takint such good care of my fur baby. Will definitely use them again the next time I need to travel.

Incredibly disappointed in the service. The employees are unprofessional and there were multiple charges that were never agreed on. Very obvious that they are money hungry and do not really care about your pet. Steer clear from this place.

Very cute place with suites for the cats and an aviary! The staff loves to let out the cats one by one and give them individual love. My cat loves it and they love her. They were very accommodating when I had to go out of town last minute and made room for my kitty. Thumbs up.
Frequently Asked Questions About Meowhaus 1 Feline Boarding & Day Spa
What do I bring?
We provide essential items such as a memory foam bed, litter box with litter, and food and water dishes. Please bring your cat's food, vaccination records, completed meowhaus paperwork, any necessary medications, and flea treatment. You're welcome to bring additional comfort items like bedding, blankets, or toys (avoiding those with strings or rubber bands). If you forget anything, we have various comfort items available.
What do you do in an emergency?
In case of a medical emergency, we'll immediately contact you or your designated emergency contacts. We'll arrange transportation to the nearest veterinary clinic for urgent care. Please note that all emergency care expenses are the responsibility of the cat owner.
What vaccinations are required?
We require FVRCP and rabies vaccinations. For cats unable to receive vaccinations due to health reasons, we accept a veterinary exemption letter.
What are the suites like?
Our 44 suites across two locations are approximately 216 cubic feet each. Standard and special needs suites are similarly sized, typically 4 feet wide, 6 feet long, and 9 feet tall. Most suites feature a skybox balcony, a large window overlooking the aviary, a full glass door, scratching carpet, and multiple levels. Special needs suites omit the skybox for safety reasons. The garden room is unique, offering an outside view instead of an aviary connection.
I'd like my kitty to stay just for the day. What do I do?
Day boarding is available for $40 per cat. Drop off your cat during our morning hours and pick up during afternoon hours. To book, visit our reservation page and select the same date for arrival and departure. Please disregard any additional fee notes; the cost is a flat $40.
My cat is indoors-only and never had fleas. Do I still need flea protection?
Yes, flea protection is required for all cats. While your cat may not have fleas, we occasionally receive cats with active infestations. We treat these cases immediately, but there's still a risk of flea transfer. We offer Advantage for $20 per dose if needed, which provides 30 days of protection.
Do kitties get individual attention?
Absolutely. Our staff regularly visits each suite to provide affection, including hugs, kisses, petting, and brushing. We employ dedicated kitty cuddlers for two-hour shifts of exclusive attention. Cats can also explore the shop individually, with some preferring to wander while others enjoy helping with office tasks. We prioritize safety, ensuring all cats are secure before opening the front door.
Can I come by for a tour?
Yes, we offer tours by appointment. To maintain a calm environment, we schedule tours between 10am-11:30am and 2pm-4:00pm, Tuesday through Saturday. We don't offer tours on Mondays due to high check-out activity.
My cat requires medication. Do you do that?
Yes, we administer various medications. Pills, liquids, and ointments are $10 per day, subcutaneous fluids are $20 per day, while insulin injections, glucose monitoring, and bladder expressions are $25 per day. Our staff includes a veterinary technician. Medicated cats receive treatment first thing in the morning and last thing at night, approximately 9 hours apart. Please contact us if you have any questions or consult your vet if you have concerns about the schedule.
Do I bring my own food?
We ask that you provide your cat's regular food, bringing more than enough for the duration of their stay. We have refrigeration and heating facilities for various food types. Treats are also welcome. In case you forget food, we offer a selection of wet and dry options for $5 per meal (price may vary by type and circumstance)
