  I was a little reluctant when I switched from my local vet to Banfield--they are a large organization with multiple locations, and I was worried the experience would be more corporate and less personal than I was used to. That was 5 years ago and I can't be more happy to be wrong. I've brought our older dog to multiple locations in the Portland and Vancouver area and have received nothing but thoughtful, professional, and kind expert care at each of them. The value for the care plan\pet insurance is exceptional in my opinion. We initially went to Banfield when our guy needed some work on his teeth and the prices for pet dental felt pretty staggering. Banfield's care plan includes anesthesia and a full dental cleaning annually, discounts for meds and extractions, affordable nail trims, accessible online consultations and advice, and unlimited in-person office visits as needed, and the cost is very reasonable. They even allowed us to start the plan and get his dental work done without any requirement that we pay for a certain number of months before being eligible. As our dog has aged and dealt with some arthritis and cognitive decline, our support has been fantastic from Banfield. Dr Fetter at the NE 82nd location has been more responsive, clear, patient, and compassionate than many of my personal PCPs have been for humans. And we have gotten equally great care on SE Belmont and several other locations in the area. It's great being able to get someone on the phone easily, refill prescriptions and get medical records through the app, and reach someone with questions practically any time. They even have a partnership with some local 24 hour emergency hospitals to give peace of mind. I really didn't expect the quality of the service to be this great but I'm so thankful that it has been and I really trust this team to give our best little bud everything possible for a healthy and comfortable life. Maybe we're just lucky in Portland and if so I hope that this standard is held up throughout banfield's locations, because every pet owner deserves the kind of trust and investment we have received. I can't recommend them highly enough based on our experience.

  II highly appreciate the NE Banfield location. They consistently provide top-notch care and respect to my dog Chewy. Their team of doctors, nurses, and front office staff work together seamlessly. I highly recommend them.

  My niece has had good experiences here with her cat Tigress but I have found them to be too expensive.

  I should have know Banfield would play Banfield games! I brought a pet to them over 10 years ago to get vaccines and got a free exam. I'm on a fixed income so I was very specific in asking them in two separate phone calls if that was going to prevent me from getting a free exam for my cat. I had enough to cover everything else if the initial exam was free. I wanted to know if the exam wasn't going to be free because if it wasn't I was going to wait another month to have the full amount but they assured me. So how humiliated I was when I had to tell them in front of a waiting room full of people that I couldn't afford the visit. How humiliating that I had to take my animal and leave in front of everyone. I got far enough away from their parking lot for no one to see me parked my car and just cried. If Banfield was the last veterinarian office on the face of the planet and I had all the money in the world I would not go back!
