  Amazing team, that truly cares. Katelyn was so great throughout our appointment and walked me through all of the options for wellness plans as well as going over my cats meds so thoroughly. We’ve been in and out of appointments all year and this was the best Banfield location I’ve been to, every one of the staff I interacted with was so friendly and helpful.

  This team truly cares about your pet! They took extra time to explain to me The possible concerns that my Papillon, Olive, might have going on. They gave me the option to increase my insurance plan that would then cover the services which would’ve been over $1,000 today. I feel like they care about the owners too! They sent me home with clear instructions and took the time to explain them to me in depth before I left. This was an excellent experience.

  We have been bringing Charlie to Cedar Falls for years, and have had especially positive experiences with Dr. Sankaranarayanan. She is absolutely wonderful! She has the best mix of being knowledgeable, clear and professional, while at the same time approaching everything/everyone with such patience, kindness and care. She is a special, one of a kind vet. The front desk staff and nurses at Cedar Falls are also great. They are all friendly and seem to genuinely care for each pet. I have interacted most often with Janessa and she is amazing...communicates well and goes above and beyond to be helpful and kind.

  I brought my cat in because he was constipated. Unfortunately this isn’t our first time dealing with it, and in the past it’s usually been pretty straightforward: do an X-ray to make sure that’s the issue, give him an enema, and he’s good to go. I was totally fine with starting with an X-ray. The person helping me seemed really unsure of what the vet would even want to do. When I mentioned an enema, he said they hadn’t done one in a while and didn’t think they had the staffing to perform one, so I’d probably have to schedule it. My cat was actively unable to poop… this isn’t something you schedule for next week. Then I got the estimate. Almost $700 for an X-ray. Around $400 for the X-ray itself and another $300 to send it out for a second opinion. Why does the X-ray need to be looked at by a third party??? Then I was told it would take 24-48 hours to get the results back. So let me get this straight… I’m supposed to pay $700, wait two days for results, and my cat still isn’t getting treated that day? I was actually trying to avoid going to the emergency vet because I figured a regular vet would be more affordable. I’ve taken my cat to Tanasbourne Veterinary Emergency multiple times for this exact issue, and I’ve always felt guilty paying emergency vet prices. But their X-rays have been a fraction of that price, they look at them right away, and they actually treat my cat that visit. I honestly don’t even want to know what the total at Banfield would’ve been after the X-ray. I know veterinary care is expensive, but charging emergency vet prices (or more) while telling me you can’t treat my cat that day just doesn’t make sense. This whole experience made me appreciate Tanasbourne Veterinary Emergency even more.

  10 years as a loyal wellness plan holder and it turns out it was all just a scam. I thought I was investing in my dogs wellness. This last year has been a nightmare. We had many miss diagnoses, lack of care, and then were up sold to a higher wellness plan while my dog was declining only for him to need to be put down just 30 days later. I am now being told I need to pay $1000 to close his account. After nearly 10 years with 2 dogs on plans. I’m disappointed. When I called and talked to the manager here I was hung up on, not told they were sorry for my loss, just that I signed a legal document and that I need to pay for services rendered. I will never encourage anyone to sign up for Banfield. How sad to lose your best friend of 13 years who had a plan here for almost his entire life and them come back and want more. Not once in my 10 years were we told if our dog passed we needed to continue to pay. While this plan may have started with good intentions for pets and pet owners. Greed has taken over Banfield and they just want your money they don’t actually care about your pet. Go to a local vet who cares and is transparent with billing and what’s being billed.
