- MHMelissa HaddanJun 24, 20261.0Terrible experience. The front desk person was dishonest with me and told me that she asked the vets whether or not my cat needed an exam in order to get a prescription for her anxiety since she's unable to leave the house without it. She told me none of the vets would prescribe it unless she got an exam first which doesn't even make sense because that's the whole reason she needs the prescription. And I needed to remove her from the house due to a stressful experience that I was going through and she told me there was no other way but to bring her in. I brought her in for an exam and she later had a horrible allergy to the vaccine and I had to bring her back at which point I had spoke to the vet who told me that the front desk person never even talked to her about my situation. The vet said that if she had asked her she would have approved a prescription of gabapentin so that my cat didn't have to go through that amount of stress without it. I will no longer be taking my cats here and have told my son to also stop bringing his cats to Banfield. And this is the second experience that I've had that was negative.

There's a 12 month commitment. I used this place for my cat but never got a call back to check in on him or anything. You pay 80+ dollars a month for okay service where you hope for a call back. Eh. The place works for some folks, not for everyone. Nor are the "plans" they offer.

No, but you can call us during hospital hours for urgent care advice. Depending on the situation, we can help provide a referral for urgent care, specialty providers, or to an emergency hospital. During non-hospital hours, please contact your local emergency hospital.

What is an Optimum Wellness Plan?
Optimum Wellness Plans are designed to provide annual preventive care. They include head-to-tail exams, vaccines, early screening diagnostics, consultations for proper nutrition, dental care and more! Since wellness plans are not insurance, they do not include treatment for unpredictable or abnormal conditions, however discounts would apply. Because pets need ongoing preventive care, wellness plans automatically renew at the end of each twelve month period (unless paid in full at enrollment).
How do I pay for an Optimum Wellness Plan?
You can spread the cost of your wellness plan across the 12 months of your annual agreement to make it easier to budget for the essential health care your pet needs. Your monthly payments can be automatically withdrawn from a checking or savings account or charged to a credit card so that you don’t have to worry about them once you enroll. We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.
What kind of appointment do I have?
• In-room appointments: You and your pet visit the vet together. Please arrive a few minutes before your appointment time
• Drop-off appointments: If you have a drop-off appointment, we will communicate a time to drop off your pet. Keep your phone nearby and we’ll call you when your pet is ready for pickup.
• Optimum Wellness Plans® Virtual Visits: If you have an Optimum Wellness Plan and scheduled a Virtual Visit, you’ll save valuable time and get quality care from the comfort of your home.
