This visit was good , the place was clean . However, I stood in line to purchase my items for 14 minutes due to the cashier calling assistance for help to assist a senior person . The person behind me also felt it was not necessary to make some unnecessary choices for help . He entertained the person by chatting. He could have had her wait to the side for assistance and quickly ring up the line . He was young and with no logic .

Went in one day looking to get a pleco for my betta tank, found one and asked the lady if she could help me real quick. She told me "Its only me and another person working right now, im busy." Then proceeded to follow me over anyway...I could already tell she was mad, even though im asking to buy a fish to get it out of a tank thats only max 20 gallons...like excuse me. She was very unprofessional, stating my set up was not good enough for me to buy one. Pretty sure she does not know what shes talking about at all. I know how big they get, I know what they need to be happy and healthy. Also the amount of dead fish that were in each and every tank is insane. How can she hate on me when she cant even keep gold fish alive. So I ended up just leaving and not dealing with her anymore. If I could give her a rating herself I would but sadly cant. -100/10 dont recommend this petco, go to the one in northeast salem!! They are amazing and super helpful!!

Went in to get my dog some flea meds. Staff was real nice and accommodating of my budget. When they gave her the exam, they also let me know of a possible health issue to keep an eye on. Thanks, Vetco. Great service and very knowledgeable.

Update: 8/3 As of today, August 3, I still have not received a single phone call, email, or any other form of communication from Petco regarding this situation. Despite calling multiple times, using the online chat several times, filing a corporate complaint, and updating this review, no one has reached out. At this point, it honestly feels like my review, emails, phone calls, and concerns are being completely dismissed. It’s disappointing that a company of this size would ignore a customer who was simply trying to understand a policy and was treated disrespectfully in the process. This situation is no longer just about the original interaction, it’s about the complete lack of accountability and customer service afterward. A simple acknowledgment or follow up would have gone a long way, but instead, I’ve been met with silence. Update: 7/28 3:30 pm it has been 6 days and no one has contacted me or seems to care. Glad to see you guys pick and choose who you want to contact! Update: 7/28 4:35pm the complaint has been filed with corporate, and she assured me things would get done. If you want to make a complaint go on petco.com and tap chat and the bottom right and you’ll get to talk to someone Honestly, if I could give zero stars, I probably would I had a very disappointing experience at the Petco in Keizer Station. My cat was recently diagnosed with Feline Idiopathic Cystitis (FIC), so I’m completely new to prescription pet foods. My veterinarian had recommended a specific brand, and I found it on the shelf at Petco. I honestly didn’t know that this particular brand required a prescription—I thought “Prescription Diet” was simply part of the brand’s name. When I brought it to the register, I was told I couldn’t purchase it without a prescription. I asked the employee at the front, “If this food requires a prescription, why is it sitting on the shelf instead of being locked up or kept behind the counter?” He wasn’t sure and offered to get the manager, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, my interaction with the manager completely changed the experience. Instead of listening or showing any understanding that I was new to all of this, I was talked down to and made to feel like I should have already known the policy. I was told, “It’s been like that for years. I just do what I’m told.” That response completely missed the point. If someone has never had a pet that needs prescription food, how would they know what’s been done “for years”? I explained that I was new to this because my cat had just been diagnosed, but instead of empathy or a simple explanation, I was met with a rude, dismissive, and demeaning attitude. This was already a stressful time for me as I was trying to do the right thing for my cat. A little kindness and understanding would have gone a long way. Instead, I left feeling belittled and unwelcome. Customer service should be about educating and helping people, especially when they’re navigating something unfamiliar—not making them feel embarrassed for asking a reasonable question. I hope Petco provides better training on how to communicate with customers who are simply trying to care for their pets. A little compassion and respect can make all the difference

I’ve continued to use the Petco in Keizer despite hearing many negative reviews, hoping my experience would be different. Unfortunately, over the years—especially with the veterinary clinic—it’s been one issue after another. The online scheduling system has been unreliable, and we’ve even been scheduled for appointment times when the clinic wasn’t open. The final experience was enough for us to decide not to return. My dog had a large open wound on his leg with significant hair loss, and it was important that he be seen. I understand that emergencies, scheduling conflicts, and software issues happen. What was disappointing was the complete lack of effort to help in any way. There was no attempt to quickly clean or bandage the wound, no advice on what to do next, and no sense of urgency or concern. We were simply told they couldn’t see us and that the next available appointment was a week away. I wasn’t expecting them to disrupt their entire schedule, but I did expect a little compassion and guidance for an injured animal. Unfortunately, that wasn’t our experience. We’ll be taking our pets to another veterinary provider going forward.
