  I dropped my pup Tarachi off today for a full bathe, brush, and general care. I use the wait time to go wash and clean out my truck, but was surprised when I got a call a short time later from the groomer telling me that she realized it had only been 20 minutes, but my pup was done. She stated that she was still a bit damp, but she should be dry by the time I got there. This service has never taken less than an hour before, so I was thoroughly confused, especially since the last time I had her groomed there she had not been brushed out and by the time I got home my truck was covered with hair. I asked if she had been brushed out. Her response was that she had short hair and didn’t seem to be shedding. I was amazed and more than a bit irritated. The biggest reason for taking her in was she was shedding horribly, and we are leaving tomorrow to be guests at a beach house. I asked if she could be brushed out and she replied with, “I guess I can brush her out real quick “. I went to pick her up and grew more agitated as I drove. When I got there, I explained about the conversation, and how my dog hadn’t been brushed out the last time, and that there was no way all the services listed on Petco’s reservation sight could be performed in just 20 minutes. They argued they absolutely could. Just so everyone knows, the package I booked was for a full deep cleaning shampoo, BLOW DRY, nail trim, gland expression, ear cleaning, 15 MINUTE BRUSH OUT, and scented spritz. I showed the screenshot to the ladies at the front and the groomer responded that they didn’t offer all these things with their service. I told them that was funny, because that’s exactly what it says is included on the corporate web page, and that is what I booked and was paying for. At that point, I asked for the manager. After about 5 minutes he came to the front. I brought him over to the groomer because I didn’t want her to be able to claim that anything I was saying was untrue. I walked through the same thing with the manager, and he asked her to brush the dog out. The groomer stated she already did, and he asked that she go back and ensure it was done good. The groomer very reluctantly did so. After she went in back, I showed the manager the booking screenshot with services listed and told him that nobody could honestly say that all the displayed services could be done in 20 minutes. I also said I didn’t want the girl to get in any trouble, but I just wanted what I paid for. He understood completely. Anyway, I get my pooch home and my wife notices that the dog’s hind quarters where she had dragged her butt through the dirt this morning was still dirty, and she didn’t get get the scented spritz she is supposed to receive. At this point, I think they just did a very quick wash and called it good. I am extremely disappointed with today’s service, and can’t in good conscience recommend this groomer to anyone. For 60.00 with tip, I could have done a much more caring and thorough job at home, and saved myself the 60.00. I honestly don’t think I will be able to trust the care of our pup to Petco again. Dog owners beware!
