I made an appointment for my dog through the Banfield app for a skin/coat check. We are part of Banfield Optimum Wellness Plan and we travel a lot. My dog does great with in room appointments (which is flagged on his chart). But in this case that wasn’t an option. At drop off I let the tech know my dog was going to be upset. An hour later I got a call from the tech that the doctor could not perform the exam because my dog was anxious and shaking. I was reassured he did not display any aggressive behaviors but was told he needed Trazodone, to sedate him, and allow the doctor to perform the exam. But either way, I was told that he had to be picked up immediately. At pick up, I was told the medication cost $30. That’s it. I wasn’t offered to schedule another exam or given time to address the fact that he does perfectly fine with in room appointments. Had a moment been taken to discuss the situation or just to console my dog, offer him a treat or take him out of the kennel it is my feeling that this exam could have been performed in under 5 minutes. Very disappointed in the lack of care, the disregard for reviewing an animals history, and the disregard for addressing a clients concerns or willingness to listen and better understand the situation. As a medical professional in the healthcare industry I am not opposed to the benefits of medications like Trazodone. However, the complete lack of empathy or understanding from Dr. Peter Liddell here was appalling. I hope his team treats his other clients and their pets as they would their own and this was just a fluke.

Scam!! I have had my dog on a banfield plan for over a year before transfering to this location. After bringing my dog to this location, i have had nothing but issues. Every time i try to make an appointment ive been told me account has “been sent to collections” yet the account has been paid for, as well as an additional payment of $467 to “reinstate” my account. This should have reactivated my pups plan and covered his next appointment. It did not, i was charged another $75 for the appointment, and made sure the card on file was updated before leaving that day(3-4 weeks ago). I tried to make an appointment again today, just to be told the account is in collections again(somehow in the span of one month), and his plan cannot cover the appointment, which is supposed to be a booster vaccine for the previous vaccines i already had to pay out of pocket for when we had an existing plan. As a full time college student, this has been extremely strenuous on our situation. I just want to ensure the health of my dog, however banfield has made this extremely difficult and expensive.

While waiting for my other dog in surgery had some time to keep this one occupied. The staff at Banfield and Petsmart are always super kind and helpful.
