I brought my dog in yesterday for grooming and purchased the seasonal Summer Package, which included the cucumber shampoo, teeth brushing, nail buffing, and a Stitch bandana.
When I booked the appointment, I specifically requested the groomer who had worked with my dog before because she had done a great job. When I arrived, I found out someone else groomed him instead. While the haircut itself looked good and I appreciate that effort, I was never told my requested groomer wouldn’t be grooming him.
I also had no issue paying the additional brushing fee for my doodle’s curly coat. My disappointment is that none of the seasonal package services appeared to be performed. There was no Stitch bandana, his teeth were not brushed, his nails were not buffed, and the specialty cucumber shampoo was not used.
I stopped by the store afterward to speak with the manager because I wanted to understand what happened. I explained that I had paid for services that weren’t provided and requested a refund for the seasonal package. His response was simply, “Sure.” There was no apology, no acknowledgment of the issue, and no indication that anyone would look into why I was charged for services that weren’t performed.
Mistakes happen, but the way a business responds is what earns customer loyalty. I wasn’t looking for perfection—I was looking for accountability. Instead, I left feeling like no one cared. After spending around $160 on this appointment, I expected to receive the services I paid for and the groomer I specifically requested—or at least to be informed if that wasn’t possible. Unfortunately, because of the incomplete service and the manager’s lack of concern, I won’t be returning for future grooming appointments
