- KFKayla FolsomApr 3, 20262.0I had a pretty disappointing experience at Petco yesterday. When I walked in, there were about four employees standing around talking. While they did greet me, that was pretty much the extent of the interaction. I spent some time walking around trying to find what I needed, but couldnāt locate it. When I went back to the front to ask for help looking for sand for my hamster, it honestly felt like I was interrupting them. The employee who helped me seemed disengaged and responded with, ālike the bathing sand?ā which didnāt feel very helpful considering I was clearly unsure. She showed me where it was and then immediately walked away without offering any additional assistance. I also went over to the fish section because I was planning to get some snails, but the employee working there just stared at me and didnāt ask if I needed help. On top of that, all the snails in the tank appeared to be dead, which was concerning. When I went back up front to check out, the group of employees awkwardly stopped their conversation, rang me up, and that was it. The whole experience felt uncomfortable and unwelcoming. To make matters worse, the item I purchased was noticeably overpriced compared to Petsmart. Overall, the customer service was lacking and the store didnāt leave a great impression.
