  ATTENTION: NEVER BUY LIVE FISH FROM PETCO IN STILLWATER, Use online services that deliver!!!I am writing to share some feedback regarding a recent disappointing experience at your Stillwater location. We recently purchased 16 fish from your store, and from the moment we received them, a majority of them looked incredibly rough. In fact, the employee at checkout explicitly noticed the deteriorating shape of a couple of the fish themselves. They assured us that it would be fine and stated it would be absolutely no issue to swap them out later if we experienced any problems.Over the course of the next day or two, six of those fish passed away—spanning two or three different varieties. The nitrate levels in our tank were completely normal and all other parameters were fine; it is clear that these losses were caused by severe stress and the poor, weakened condition the fish were in initially.When I attempted to return these six fish on a Friday evening close to closing time, instead of receiving the hassle-free help we were promised, I was instructed to take the dead fish on a 15-mile round trip back home, freeze them, and return later with a separate water sample. I even asked if the employee could simply take pictures of the dead fish while they were right there in the bag—allowing me to dispose of them safely rather than continuously transporting them, and ensuring I would only need to bring back a water sample. This reasonable request was denied. The employee also indicated that a replacement would likely be denied anyway due to nitrate levels, leaving me feeling that my time and business were not valued.Over the past years, my family has invested thousands of dollars at this specific store, upgrading to progressively larger tanks and purchasing all of our chemicals, media, heaters, lights, and specialty equipment here. Given our history as customers, we expected a more supportive and accommodating approach to customer service. Due to how this situation was handled, we will no longer be purchasing pets or supplies at this store.   UPDATE: The Manager John called me to talk to me about my concerns and made me feel a lot better! He is a good person and I really appreciate him calling me. I love Petco and now I’m excited to go back for our next purchase. Also.. tip for the next person in case they have a bad experience with one employee.. don’t assume all the employees are the same like I did because I was in fact wrong and felt horrible about my review so I wanted to come update it! Have a blessed day! And if you need help ask for John he is amazing! It’s actually sad that we only have one Petco or place in general to do anything with pets or fish and it’s very sad that we’re forced to go to Petco because some employees up there do not know how to smile they’re very rude. and they treat you as if you’re going to steal when you’re actually there to purchase stuff it’s insane everyone there needs to be fired besides 2 guys John and the other I will get his name and come back and edit this because it’s insane to work in customer service and be rude to paying customers.   Tried to order dog tags online but ended up having to come to the store. Everyone was very helpful and I was able to print my tags. Bought a new collar and leash. A bit price but also very good quality.

  Very mad they won't stock my cat food anymore and they made me sign up for the monthly autoship feature to get the catfood. Then I keep getting emails that say it's delayed and it won't ship. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THE AUTOSHIP FEATURE JUST BUY FROM AMAZON. I'm having such a hard time getting my money back from this won't ship limbo I'm in. Shame on you Christopher for signing me up to this scam just to meet your quota and shame on you petco for wasting my time. You've lost my business forever, I'm not taking my cats to your vetco anymore either.
