Looking for a dedicated veterinary team in Upper Arlington, OH, to help you take care of your pet’s wellness? You can depend on Banfield Pet Hospital, located at the intersection of Beaumont Road and West Lane Avenue. Discover how our services can help you prioritize your furry friend’s wagging tail or soothing purr.
The people are nice but if you travel and need specific documentation they are simply not knowledgeable about that. Vet signatures may or may not be on rabies vaccination paperwork as required for travel. Also have a reactive dog and were providing an extremely low dosage of medications and didn't adjust it last time I went in and had followed instructions. Upper Arlington Pet Hospital is right by them and much more knowledgeable.

Have had a good experience at this location, but I will say the stand out has to be Chrissy. Every-time I talk to her whether it’s on the phone or in the waiting area she is always beyond helpful and knowledgeable. She is absolutely fantastic.

I have been bringing my cats to this location since 2022 and currently have three cats on wellness plans. Despite moving farther away, I continued coming here because of past positive experiences. Unfortunately, my recent experience while caring for my 15-year-old sick cat has been incredibly frustrating due to poor communication, inconsistent information, and unexpected charges.
After bloodwork and X-rays, I was told my cat likely had kidney disease and/or lymphoma and that I could either pursue further diagnostics and treatment or focus on keeping her comfortable. I chose comfort care and was advised to bring her back for fluids. However, every time I returned, different veterinarians and technicians repeatedly pressured me to schedule an ultrasound, often without clearly explaining how it would change her care if I was not pursuing treatment. One vet even told me she might not survive the week, despite that urgency never being communicated during the initial visit.
Communication was consistently poor. It took multiple visits before I was informed that all-day IV fluid therapy was available, even though I had already spent several days bringing her in for shorter fluid treatments. I also received conflicting information about services, treatment recommendations, and pricing from different staff members.
I also had an issue with grooming services. I paid $40 to have diarrhea-soiled fur shaved from under my cat's tail and legs, but only a very small area was shaved. Later, I was told there were different grooming levels and that I would need to pay more for what I originally requested, despite that never being explained beforehand.
The final straw was being presented with a bill of over $300 for a visit I expected to cost around the same as previous appointments. I was informed for the first time that prior visits had been discounted and that hospitalization fees applied, none of which had been clearly communicated beforehand.
Caring for a seriously ill pet is already emotionally exhausting. Throughout this process, I felt confused, pressured, and consistently left out of the loop. While this location may be fine for routine care, I would not recommend it for more serious medical situations due to the lack of communication, consistency, and compassion I experienced.

What is an Optimum Wellness Plan?
Optimum Wellness Plans are designed to provide annual preventive care. They include head-to-tail exams, vaccines, early screening diagnostics, consultations for proper nutrition, dental care and more! Because pets need ongoing preventive care, wellness plans automatically renew at the end of each twelve month period (unless paid in full at enrollment).
How do I pay for an Optimum Wellness Plan?
You can spread the cost of your wellness plan across the 12 months of your annual agreement to make it easier to budget for the essential health care your pet needs. Your monthly payments can be automatically withdrawn from a checking or savings account or charged to a credit card so that you don’t have to worry about them once you enroll. We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.
What kind of appointment do I have?
• In-room appointments: You and your pet visit the vet together. Please arrive a few minutes before your appointment time
• Drop-off appointments: If you have a drop-off appointment, we will communicate a time to drop off your pet. Keep your phone nearby and we’ll call you when your pet is ready for pickup.
