  Petco has horrible living conditions for its animals and often fails to meet even the minimum standards of ethical care. The hamsters are kept in habitats that are far too small, given improper diets, and provided with wheels that are not the correct size, which can cause serious back problems and deformities. They also have little to no bedding, leaving them without enough material to burrow or feel secure. In one enclosure, a thin sheet of plastic was separating a Syrian hamster from a smaller hamster, and the Syrian attacked the other hamster, showing how unsafe and inappropriate the setup was. The mice were all housed together in overcrowded conditions, and one of the male mice was even bleeding. The guinea pigs had only one hideout to share, and one guinea pig’s fur was completely matted, suggesting that it was not receiving proper grooming or care. Even when the workers were supposedly “cleaning the cages,” there was still poop everywhere afterward, which shows that the enclosures were not being cleaned properly. It is especially shocking because Petco sells many products that could help these animals live healthier and more comfortable lives, yet the store chooses to provide only the bare minimum. These poor living conditions can cause stress, injuries, illness, behavioral problems, and possibly shorter lives, making it harder for the animals to be adopted because they may already be unhealthy or difficult to handle. People should not support a pet store that fails to provide safe, clean, and ethical care, and Petco needs to take responsibility by giving every animal the proper space, food, bedding, enrichment, and supervision it deserves. Plus the place is already to expensive compared to the 2 other stores right by it. I would also like to mentioned how the cats pen stinker horribly there was poop all over their cages.

  This location is good. The employees are nice, but not very knowledgeable about the animals. I find we have to educate them on rat and mouse care a lot. We also don't really like this company, but if you're in a pinch or want to rescue some animals from a terrible fate, this place isn't bad. They have jumping spiders now. Please someone save them. Those are sentient creatures stuck in a tiny container.

  DO NOT SHOP HERE IF YOU HAVE A DISABILITY!! OR A SENSORY ISSUE!!! THE GIRL SAMANTHA WILL MAKE YOU FEEL LIKE A STUPID PERSON AND WILL MAKE YOU FEEL LIKE YOU WANT TO NEVER SHOP IN PUBLIC AGAIN!!! THIS WOMAN SHOULD NOT WORK WITH THE PUBLIC SINCE SHE CLEARLY IS RACIST AGAINST PEOPLE WITH A DISABILITY!!! I AM EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE EXPERIENCE I HAD!! SHE SHOULD NOT HAVE A JOB OR BE IN PUBLIC!! I will never be back!!!! I really wish I could press charges against her!! I am still shaking and she even followed me out to my vehicle screaming at me!! Like this is normally why I shop online because you just never know what kind of people are out there!! I'm literally scared for my life! I hope and pray she didn't follow me home!!
