My husband and I went to go buy fish and we have many fish of our own. The manager would not allow us to buy the fancy goldfish because our tank is at 72°. Aquariums & Google says that those type of fish are allowed to be at that temperature or higher. They still denied our purchase we thought it was very rude.

While the fish area is nicely taken care of, the reptiles are subpar. One of the ball pythons has very bad stuck shed all over and no wonder because they’re on aspen and their humidity is in between only 20 to 30%. Ball pythons need an ideal range between 60 and 80%. Aspen is a terrible substrate for ball pythons, It holds bacteria and holds no humidity, they need to be on a different substrate. I was unsure if the bearded dragons enclosure was up to temp, half the beardies looked dark and stressed. It also looks like one of the guinea pigs had ringworm on their ear. The crested geckos almost had no hides only two plants & a cave in a huge cage. They need a lot of tall plants to be able to feel safe, and aren’t on the ground that much in the wild they are an arboreal species. Petco needs to allow better enclosure see up because there is little to no enrichment and barely any hides for any of these animals.

Wouldn’t sell me a goldfish but yet had multiple dead fish in tanks and multiple dead betta fish.

The workers are nice, it's just such a shame that the groomers aren't very nice to the animals. About 60% of the store is all dog stuff. 30% is all reptiles, aquatics, and various other needs for more exotic pets. Cats get maybe 10% of the store so there's a very very very small selection of stuff to choose from. Might as well be named Dogco if you ask me.
