- NCNikki Critchlow3 days ago1.0My cat had an injury to his paw so I called Banfield. They are not my vets office I needed an emergency type vet because it was the weekend. I took him in and dropped him off at 8 in the morning. I told them then and was very straight forward that he was feisty and sedation would probably be needed. At 11 am I called to check on my cat and was informed they needed to sedate him . I heard nothing else and at 230 I called again to be told again they needed to sedate him and were about too. 45 min later I received a call from the dr telling me they had to give my cat an antibiotic through the crate because they couldn’t get to him. Then asked when I would be able to come get him. I came immediately to find out my cat had been sitting in his tiny carrier for 8 hours and had defecated on himself. They had not been able to get my cat out of carrier in 8HOURS! I spoke to them multiple times and at no time did anybody mention this to me. They also wanted me to bring him back and try again! NEVER AGAIN! My already scared cat is completely traumatized by this whole experience and quite frankly I am as well! If you love your animals don’t send them to this place! They are cruel to animals!

When my Maltese needed emergency surgery they knew that I was not financially prepared and they showed me how to get the best Care I could with the optimum wellness plan and try to help me get the best price I could. The staff is very patient and kind and I appreciate their willingness to work with me.

What is an Optimum Wellness Plan?
Optimum Wellness Plans are designed to provide annual preventive care. They include head-to-tail exams, vaccines, early screening diagnostics, consultations for proper nutrition, dental care and more! Since wellness plans are not insurance, they do not include treatment for unpredictable or abnormal conditions, however discounts would apply. Because pets need ongoing preventive care, wellness plans automatically renew at the end of each twelve month period (unless paid in full at enrollment).
How do I pay for an Optimum Wellness Plan?
You can spread the cost of your wellness plan across the 12 months of your annual agreement to make it easier to budget for the essential health care your pet needs. Your monthly payments can be automatically withdrawn from a checking or savings account or charged to a credit card so that you don’t have to worry about them once you enroll. We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.
What kind of appointment do I have?
• In-room appointments: You and your pet visit the vet together. Please arrive a few minutes before your appointment time
• Drop-off appointments: If you have a drop-off appointment, we will communicate a time to drop off your pet. Keep your phone nearby and we’ll call you when your pet is ready for pickup.
• Optimum Wellness Plans® Virtual Visits: If you have an Optimum Wellness Plan and scheduled a Virtual Visit, you’ll save valuable time and get quality care from the comfort of your home.
