I took him to Banfield for his front right shoulder was sore and he had a UTI. I just wanted pain meds and antibiotics. The vet called for all sorts of exams including X-rays. I said okay because I believed they would take good care of him. They gave him back to me unable to use his back legs. I was told that this was normal and he'd be fine. I bring him home and he is refusing to eat. I call on Saturday to let my vet know what was going on and they continued to tell me he was fine and that some dogs take a few days to feel better after sedation. I take him to Med vet on Sunday after he is still not eating, is more unresponsive and now not using any of his legs. Med vet says he could have an injured spine but can't know for sure without an MRI. We bring him home still on Gabapentin and rimadyl and his antibiotics that my vet prescribed him on Friday. It is now Tuesday and he is still not eating and is incapable of using his legs.

Laura Blair, DVM is unassuming at first however, I found her pushy to upsell me. I asked three employees “did you all send the script for flea and tick to Sam’s Club?” Neither the front desk, the tech or Dr. Blair knew if they had sent an electronic script for flea and tick - a problem they had seen Camille (the dog) for in October. I informed Dr. Blair I have another child and my husband is allergic to flea bites giving him boils. I need the script and this has been since the last visit that no one has sent the script. Her next words were yes but I hear a murmur and with Camille age she recommends the Heart worm protection. I said ok I’ll go and get it myself. Then Dr. Blair pulled up the price on Chewy and said Banfield is cheaper and asked where was I getting it from she has no scrips on file. To which I replied hey man I don’t know but I got it from a store. You are upselling me on this heart worm when I came in here with a concern about flea and tick but since you won’t let me go until you upsell me just take the dog and give her the injection but can someone please give me a paper script for the flea and tick treatment since it is in the job description to send it electorally but you refuse until you get the $45. She said nothing and took the dog administered the injection and brought back a paper script. She never refuted my claim of her upselling me. Never in my 6 years of being at Banfield had I been pressured and quite honestly it won’t happen again - she can pressure the next customer. Banfield must provide a training for their employees to use a different sales approach because holding a customer and a toddler hostage is not sustainable for profit. Camille can be seen by another provider at Banfield or not go to Banfield at all.

Some of the people there were very friendly, but there were incidents where I was told if I pay a upfront fee that the next time you come in for check ups, it will be free and my dogs 3 shots would will be free after membership , but they charged me every time

I've been taking my dog here for a few years and I am deciding enough is enough. They're pirates on the cost, always short, very long wait times, rude employees who are just salespeople for their very expensive (almost 70 a month for a pet store vet? In this economy?) Wellness plan. They will push and coerce you into getting the plan. Going to the vet shouldn't feel like an auto dealership. Stay FAR away.

Would only accept drop off appointments for my cat that has separation anxiety and is afraid of dogs. Traumatized my cat and cannot follow directions regarding calling the appropriate number on file (instead called my spouse who is a teacher and instructing students.) Tell them to cancel my cat’s wellness plan because I’m not subjecting him to this any more. Fast forward several months, they’re now attempting to charge me for a wellness plan I canceled. Never contacted me regarding a balance (that at the time of canceling was confirmed zero!) Completely unethical care and service. If I could have given zero stars I would have.

You can spread the cost of your wellness plan across the 12 months of your annual agreement to make it easier to budget for the essential health care your pet needs. Your monthly payments can be automatically withdrawn from a checking or savings account or charged to a credit card so that you don’t have to worry about them once you enroll. We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.
What kind of appointment do I have?
• In-room appointments: You and your pet visit the vet together. Please arrive a few minutes before your appointment time
