  I don’t even pull the racist card but the two encounters I had with the grooming department and a phone call I had with the “store manager” Erin today was so very racist and rude! “Erin” is very nasty and unprofessional to the point that she was yelling at me on the phone and didn’t even know why I was calling. Won’t be back and definitely calling corporate!

  I had a very upsetting experience with this Petco grooming location. I arrived around 7:55 a.m. for my dog’s scheduled appointment and was told after check-in that her groomer had called off sick and they could not accommodate her. Since I was on my way to work, I asked whether they could hold her briefly until my husband picked her up. They refused. I expressed frustration, requested the customer service number to cancel my membership, and left. When my husband brought our dog for a rescheduled appointment, he was told they would offer a 20% discount and groom her one final time, but we could not return. The reason given was that I allegedly pushed a leash against an employee’s chest and touched her chest. **I firmly deny that allegation.** When I contacted management, the manager said there was video evidence but acknowledged that she had not personally watched it; she said someone at corporate had. She also referred to three eyewitness statements. I found her responses abrupt and dismissive when I asked questions about the allegation and requested corporate contact information. As a Black woman, being accused of physical aggression that I deny is deeply troubling. I expect a serious allegation to receive a fair, thorough review. I contacted corporate, canceled my membership, and was told the matter would be escalated. I have requested that Petco preserve and independently review the complete footage and provide a written explanation. A canceled appointment was frustrating. The disputed allegation and the way management handled my concerns were far more upsetting.

  I had trouble finding someone to help me find what I was looking for. Once I got someone to help me, everything was fine. However, I do my best not to shop at Petco anymore since they still do business with Marshall Bioresources, a company that breeds dogs, cats and gerbils for experimentation.
