We were trying g to treat out cat at home and unfortunately things took a turn and we had to make the decision for euthanasia so he wouldn't suffer any more. I called to get him in and it took almost 15 minutes off pressing "0" just to get someone on the phone. They tried to make an appointment for the following day after I told them he was having a hard time breathing and we needed to bring him in asap. Finally she agreedto just have is walk him in. The veterinarian finally came in to check him out to ensure we were doing the right thing and she agreed. 10 minutes later two people came in to prepare him, it took her 10 minutes to get the needle into his vein and after several "pokes" with one needle she finally decided to try a smaller one....she told the other tech that she'd "try again amd would go get the veterinarian if she couldn't get it." .....again taking several attempts to get the smaller needle in place she says to the other tech helping her, "I've never tried putting in a smaller needle before." She finally comes back with the cocktail to euthanize and administers the first part of the concoction to "knock him out" then leaves to have the veterinarian come back to administer the lethal dose. She does that and we sit with him as we watch his breathing slowly fade....she checks his heart with a stethoscope and confirms that he had passed.....she says we can spend as much time with him as we want and to just press the button to let them know when we were ready to leave. We spent the time we wanted and we were collecting ourselves and covered him up and we were just about to press the button when I looked over cuz I swear I saw the blanket move. As I looked closer I saw what looked like him trying to breathe, we pressed the button and one of the techs came in and we asked if him having movements like hes breathing were normal and she said that it was normal after death amd is called agonal breathing and it was a natural response to the body shutting down the nervous system. We decided to stay with him until those went away, she left the room and we sat with him a couple minutes longer and I noticed that he looked like he was actually breathing again, so we pressed the button again and told the tech to get the vet in there. The vet came in and a told her that he was in fact breathing and she checked him out and concurred.... to which she asked if she could use a butterfly needle insert to administer MORE of the lethal dose.... we're now at the point of no return and she did that and after another 5-10 minutes of still breathing after the first dose, the second dose took affect and he was gone. Once we collected ourselves AGAIN..... we head out and now have to pay and we're both standing there waiting for a woman who looked like she should have retired 20 years ago to make the invoice on the computer so they could get me to swipe and sign for it. Needless to say, we will no longer have anything to do with banfield.... with only one pet remaining, we will gladly take the extra time to find another suitable vet that is a bit more competent and maybe not so overwhelmed. I just hope that our Drew didn't suffer while they fixed their incompetence....😢

Really sad to have to leave your service as our dog Lainie has loved coming to see you. Your new fee program of 80.00 to get her nails trimmed is ridiculous. We won’t be seeing you again.

I cannot say enough good things about our experience recently. I brought my orange tabby, Seymour, in for severe dental issues that ultimately required extractions and treatment for infections. I was an absolute nervous wreck going into this—and for good reason. In December, we lost our sweet Frenchie, Lucy, to a rare genetic disease at just a year and a half old. We did everything we possibly could to save her, but in the end, it wasn’t enough. It was incredibly traumatic for our entire family—myself, my husband, our kids, and even Seymour. Because of that, this experience felt even more overwhelming. But from the moment we walked in, the entire team made us feel supported and at ease. The receptionist was kind and welcoming, the vet techs were gentle and reassuring, and Dr. Hannah Manning Kinsella was truly exceptional! She took the time to explain everything clearly in a way that was easy to understand never overwhelming or overly technical while still being thorough and professional. Her compassion and patience made such a stressful situation so much more manageable. She seemed to understand, without needing it to be said, just how much this meant to us and approached everything with an extra level of kindness and care. Dr. Manning Kinsella went above and beyond to make sure we explored every possible option for Seymour’s care. She carefully walked us through each step, helping us make informed decisions and thoughtfully considering different approaches that would still give Seymour the best outcome. What meant the most to me, though, was the genuine love and care she showed him. The staff didn’t just treat him—they comforted him. They snuggled him before and after surgery, spoke so kindly about him, and made sure he felt safe and loved when I couldn’t be there. Hearing them say how sweet he is and how lucky we are to have him truly meant everything. I am beyond grateful to have found a team that is not only highly skilled, but also deeply compassionate. Seymour was in the best possible hands. Thank you to all of you and especially **Doctor Manning Kinsella! **
