  The store continues to show a need for improvement. During my most recent visit, I noticed a dead goldfish in one of the tanks. It appeared that the fish had been deceased for some time. I brought this to the attention of a cashier, who then involved another staff associate, who apparently brought the matter to the manager. I subsequently asked the manager whether my concern about the dead fish had been brought to her attention. She responded that it had not, with little acknowledgment of the situation. I also expressed interest in purchasing a couple of the goldfish. The manager told me that because the tank did not have a barcode sticker, she would have to look up the price in a book or computer. She said she could not do so because the store was closing in approximately five minutes and corporate was strict about employees closing on time. However, she was still able to ring up the supplies I was purchasing. What concerned me most was the lack of urgency regarding the deceased fish. There was no apology or acknowledgment for bringing the issue to management's attention, and the fish was not immediately removed from the tank. I was simply told that it was not the manager's department and that the "fish guys" would need to handle it. I believe corporate should visit and inspect this location. The condition of the tank, the apparent length of time the fish had been deceased, and the way the concern was handled by management raise serious questions about the level of care and oversight at this store. I hope Petco takes this feedback seriously and addresses the situation.

  I came right now and a very kind person helped me in the fish section I wasn’t sure if my water quality was good from my fish tank so I took it for a test at the store which they do for free the employee told me I just needed to do a little bit more cleaning but everything seemed well he gave me great choices from the live plant section for my betta I am looking forward to coming to this petco more frequently I think I have enjoyed it a lot more then the one in Selden the only thing that I would have a concern is from the betta fish I saw some dead fish all the way at the top but everything else is good

  Came here for some shrimp at 8:30pm, they close at 9. One older woman kept walking past me and didn’t ask if I need help. I asked another young guy if I can get help with the fish and I was told it’s “too late for fish”. I asked the girl at the register if they have a time frame that they help customers with fish, she said the young guy was looking for someone and that she can get someone to cover her and she can help me but I left. I come here often as I live in Rocky point. Only one time did I have a helpful experience and that was with a young skinny blonde girl who was informative about bettas. Every other time employees don’t want to be bothered. Seems like poor management, leadership and overall customer service. I wish I could say I won’t be back but it’s the only pet store in my town. If the aquarium fish place across the street has 79 cent ghost shrimp I’ll gladly go there over Petco.
