I would like to start by saying I have taken my cat Whiskers (on and off) and my dog Eva here to the Henrietta Banfield location for approximately 2-4 years. My experiences are positive! The care, the flexibility, the payment plans all helped make animal care accessible to me. However my experience from August 5-August 10, 2026 have changed my perspective and now I am locked into a contract for my dog Eva despite not being happy with services rendered for Whiskers. On August 5, I brought Whiskers in, he was eatting less, and lost weight. The diagnosis was that the veterinarian found 2 tumors in his abdomen, he recommended an ultrasound, and after, the ultrasound sound confirmed “intestinal lymphoma.” The prognosis of this was he did not have much time and I could euthanize him that day at Banfield. I was not ready, so after a quick googling- I asked about anti nausea medication or appetite stimulant, something to prolong the inevitable. Reluctantly the doctor did prescribe the medications for me, while telling me that when I am ready, to call Banfield and we can set up euthanasia, that we will want to do it before a crisis. In the following days Whiskers would decline in health, continue to not eat, and sleep more. I decided euthanasia was the right decision- first I wanted clarity however. I called on August 5, after my appointment to learn more about his diagnosis', the estimated life span, and palliative comfort care. I wanted to know what his pain level may be, what it means to see improvement on the medication, and I heard nothing. I left messages, and I got no response. I put in a request through the app for an after visit summary update and there was nothing. I called Banfield every day after that from August 6-10, multiple times, different branches/locations and from my phone number and my boyfriends, and I could not reach them. I left messages- and to my surprise, no return call. There is not an option to set up a euthanasia appointment in the Banfield App. My visit with Banfield cost me $280.00 which was essentially my pets death diagnosis, and my euthanasia with another animal hospital cost me $200.00- the inhumane and lack of compassionate care I received from Banfield during my cats final moments however is really priceless. Will I use Banfield again? I’ll have to- my dog is in contract, but after that? I don’t know- I hope to be in better financial shape by then to make the decision not to. Banfield is NOT an emergency hospital, I understand that, however my cat was not in crisis- we were choosing human euthanasia to avoid crisis. I was told that when I was ready, I could bring Whiskers in, and I was deceived.

Took my dog Mocha here to get her ears checked. Everyone was just so helpful and friendly, I really had such a positive experience here. They were patient and understanding that she was nervous, and didn't want to overwhelm her. Definitely going back in the future!

Awful place. They NEVER answer the phone or call back on time. They charge a fortune for “preventative” care and both of my dogs died prematurely. The vets work on commission (really, look it up). They didn’t even euthanize my dog correctly and it wasn’t instant or humane like they promised. This place should be abolished.

This morning I brought in a kitten that looked like it had been hit by a car and was struggling in the middle of Jefferson road. I was a disgusting, crying mess and the kitten was badly hurt. This was the most nearby vet, and I took her here for help as they had just opened. The staff, including the groomer from the other side of the store were absolute angels in the face of a badly hurt kitten and an ugly crying me. They ended up needing to put her down due to her extensive injuries and current state, but because of them that kitten didn't die alone on the street and got a humane sendoff. They were very empathetic and gentle with the kitten as they were with me, and I cannot thank them enough for that kindness that meant the world. I don't know how you guys do what you do, but I wanted to let you know how deeply I appreciate it. Thank you.

HENRIETTA, NY LOCATION - This place is a money grab and does not care about the well being of your animal, AT ALL. They JUST saw my animal for allergies and told us to try benadryl... that was not working so I called to request a prescription and they will not send one without a PAID revisit appt. Keep in mind, I have been calling them for 2 WEEKS ... 1 week after they saw him & it was either no call back at all, or "I will send a note to the doc and call back" and then nothing. Now it's we have to have you pay for another visit to give him meds to make sure its an allergy... but when you saw him it was DEFINITELY an allergy? Clearly, they just lost ALL THREE of the animals they see there, because that's crazy. YOU JUST SAW HIM!!
