About

VeterinarianAnimal HospitalEmergency Veterinarian ServiceVeterinary Pharmacy
Bond Vet — Astoria is Queens’ modern and convenient veterinary clinic. At Bond Vet, we provide both primary and urgent care, which means we can be your go-to vet for any service. Primary care means annual wellness exams, vaccinations and heartworm treatment, while urgent care is needed for symptoms that require timely medical attention, be it a wound, a rash, diarrhea, coughing, behavioral changes, limping or other non-life-threatening symptoms. We started Bond to modernize the vet care experience — our mission is to strengthen the human-animal bond through better pet care. That’s why we offer a wide range of medical services including annual wellness exams, vaccines, spays, neuters, dental cleanings, mass removals and even specialty orthopedic surgeries — we are qualified and more than happy to be your primary care vet. We know pets and pet parents haven’t always enjoyed visits to the vet, but we want to change that. Our clinic is warm and welcoming, with natural lighting, a treat bar, comfortable furniture, sniffable spaces and hydration stations for pets and people. In the clinics, our team is compassionate, caring, and completely dedicated to providing best-in-class veterinary care to your pet. Bond clients love our technology — we make it easy and seamless to book appointments, access medical records, and communicate with our medical team. Because we know price is a major factor in vet care, we will always offer several paths forward, along with pricing for any diagnostics or next steps. We will never pressure you into more tests and treatments than you’re comfortable doing, and we’ll save you time by helping you file pet insurance claims. We were ready for a new kind of vet experience, and we think you’ll enjoy our approach — bring your pet for routine or urgent care. Bond Vet - Astoria is located at 35-07 30th Ave in Queens, at 36th Street. Book online, call us or walk in — bondvet.com.

I was reorganizing my 15 yrs ld dog's medications. I was loking at the one blue bottle, opened the bottole, not even one medication is missing, I never gave my dog this medication. I looked up the what the medication Gabapentin is for " Gabapentin is a prescription anticonvulsant medication used to treat nerve pain and control specific types of seizures. It works by calming overactive nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, altering how the body senses pain messages.Primary Approved Medical UsesPostherpetic Neuralgia (PHN): Relieves chronic, burning, or stabbing nerve pain that persists after a shingles infection.Epilepsy: Acts as an add-on treatment to control partial-onset seizures in adults and children.Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS): Specifically treated using the extended-release formulation known as Horizant." I remembered 2022 I wwnt BondVet for my dog has severe dry eyes, asked for antibiotic. (His eyes had thick yellow mucus/ red/ a little swallow.) And I had his eye exm result from North Shore Animal Hospital. Dr saw the result but she insisted she had to the same exam by her. She did one exam and she wanted more other exam and Blood work. I refused to have the exam done because he has all the exam she wanted in the paper. These exams were done within in a week. Now she told me my dog need to see eye specialist she would be able to recommended. about a half house later, she cam back to me you can easily fine one in internet for eye specialits. Today I will give him a medication menwhile you find an Ophthalmologist, I spent close to $200.00, I got this medicaiton- I looked up the medication -I did not give him nothing. Put the bottle in draw. For this organization dry eye syndrom is for NERVE MEDICATION. Today He is OK with heis eyes I finally beat THE SERVIER dry eye syndrom. SWAMP FAN NEAR BY HIM 24/7. hIS IS NO LONG HAVING thick yellow mucus/ no red eyes. still give him 2 time a day over-the-counter eye drops.

Last night I went to Bond hoping I was going to be leaving with my cat, but knowing I likely was not. I want to start by saying that the girls at the desk were wonderful and the techs were wonderful. The vet I saw, Dr. Keith Lewy was not. The visit was traumatic as it was and he made it significantly more. My appointment was at 7pm and I know they were going to be closing soon but he rushed my entire process and rushed me to euthanize my cat and it was horrible. As someone who has had animals their entire life I know how euthanasia works. I usually have the vet come to my home, but sadly my baby was not going to make it until Thursday when the vet was scheduled to come so I had to take her to Bond. My cat was so stressed out and Dr. Lewy rushed me to do the sedative once they put the catheter in and then rushed me once they sedated her to give the final injection. He kept telling me that the sedative was going to wear off and she was going to wake up. I’ve never had a vet tell me that and it was truly heartbreaking to feel like I couldn’t even have time to spend with my cat while she was still alive. Once she had passed he then rushed to take her so I have this immense guilt about even taking her there. It will forever be engrained in my head and heart how terrible our final moments together were. It didn’t have to be that way. I didn’t get the time that I wanted with my cat. Before I even left the office Dr. Lewy was out the door so it showed me that he was clearly in a rush to get me out so he could leave. When you’re going through something so heartbreaking that’s not the experience you want to have. I have spent thousands of dollars at Bond in the last year between my two cats and I will not be returning once I pick up my cat’s ashes. I rarely leave negative reviews, but I don’t want another pet owner to ever have to feel the way I do right now. My heart is broken and understandably, but the guilt I feel for my cat’s final moments doesn’t have to and shouldn’t be my burden.

My dog ate a sock. They were so accommodating. From talking me through what we should do, to taking us in immediately. They were great and we successfully got the sock out without any complications. Highly recommended.

Had to check the reviews to see if the rude receptionist still works here and sure enough she does. I go to the Upper East Side location just to avoid her even though I like Dr.Simmons a lot. I have had some bad experiences at this location with encountering the receptionist who irritates/scares me, a vet tech who was dismissive and less than proactive care when I had concerns about my cat last year. That said there are some good vets here (Dr Simmons/Dr Trestman) and they are a good option for one off concerns. I just don't think you can be overpriced and also have rude staff - pick a struggle.

I had a very disappointing experience with Dr. Ruby Ng and her technician during what was supposed to be a routine wellness visit and vaccine update for my dog. From the beginning, the technician was unfriendly. One of the first questions she asked was whether I had given my dog his anti-anxiety medication. I explained that I had not because he is typically fine during routine veterinary exams. When Dr. Ng entered the room, instead of conducting the wellness exam I had scheduled and paid for, she spent much of the visit focusing on why I had not given the medication. I completely understand that these medications can be important for the safety of veterinary staff and the comfort of the dog. I acknowledged that and explained my reasoning, but the conversation felt more like a lecture than a discussion. When I assured her I would be closely monitoring my dog, she responded with, “Famous last words,” which I found unnecessarily dismissive. She also repeatedly said things like, “I’m just making sure we’re on the same page,” despite my having already acknowledged her concerns. When she later attempted to examine my dog’s mouth, he did snap at her. Her response was, “Clearly he’s not fine because he snapped at me.” While I understand her point, the overall tone throughout the appointment felt condescending and adversarial rather than professional and collaborative. What bothered me most was not the recommendation to use the medication. Had she simply said, “Based on today’s visit, I’d recommend giving him the medication before future appointments,” I would have had no issue with that. Instead, the medication became the primary focus of the visit, and I left feeling like my concerns and knowledge of my own dog were dismissed. Veterinary medicine requires not only clinical expertise but also good communication and bedside manner. Unfortunately, this experience lacked both. As a result, I will not be returning.
