  A decent pet store that's always worth the trip. However some of the employees can be a little rude over the phone. How am I supposed to know you do or don't have tarantulas or jumping spiders 🕷️🕸️ Many pet stores only have a single tarantula. And the jumping spiders are usually ordered when somebody wants them. Considering how these big pet stores treat Betta fish 🐠🐟. I don't even want to think about how they would treat bugs 😂 Other than that Petco is a lot of fun..

  Staff was super helpful and the cashiers were just awesome. My wife and I brought our new puppy in and everyone feel in love with him. The sweet young ladies in the grooming department were super helpful finding our puppy a no pull harness and gave the puppy all the love and pets. 10 out of 10 experience during that visit.

  Staff was super nice to me and my dog , explained medications and there use. Would definitely recommend.

  Today of September 14th, 2026 between 6pm and 6:30 pm I was completely disrespected by a white female employee name Elaine. Originally, the line was long and they only had one cashier working with a beautiful spirit name Lexi. However, I was next on line to be called. Elaine came to help , but disrespectfully skipped over me as a Black female customer and my dog to provide service to the customer behind me who were white. Elaine basically lacked care and respect for me as a customer. I told her that you see me standing on line so why skip over me. She then brushed me off like I was nothing because at this time I was the only black customer on line. Elaine said she didnt care and make body shoulder response to match such negative and disrespectful behavior. I then had to wait until Lexi finished with the customer before me who also said I was waiting on line. The couple apologize for the disrespect by Elaine as a employee and said both my dog and I were beautiful. This level of racial disrespect should not be allowed at Petco in Patchogue, NY by employees. Suffolk County Government and the BBB should look into this matter to ensure black customers receive equal service and not mistreatment. This was a horrible experience and Elaine further showed disrespect for her kind supervisor Jesse in front of customers. Yes, I asked Elaine to call her manager, she refused and said so about my request while providing service to white customers as if I was nothing. Lexi then had to call her supervisor. Jesse said he will speak with Elaine, but she should be suspended without pay and not allowed to return back to work until she receives retraining on diversity and how to treat all customers. I hope this store location address this and not allow it to happen again.

  Worst pet store i’ve ever been to. The betta fish selection was awful, there was multiple dead and merely dead fish just sitting on the shelf decaying. Two bettas were side by side, stressing each other out, and the tanks were filled with dead fish. There is zero care at all in this store.
