- PJPatrick JensenJun 10, 20263.0I have been bringing my pets to Banfield for over 20 years. It seems to me like they have put profit over providing the best care to the animals they see. I am sure each Veterinarian at Banfield truly loves animals and keeping them healthy. In my opinion it's the people on the financial side who are driving the ship now. When I first took my pets to Banfield we were directed to a room and after a short wait a Veterinarian would come into the room and examine the animal. Then after a few years I noticed we would only see a Vet Tech who took my pet into the back for exam and testing. Now I have to drop off my pet and wait for a phone call from a Vet Tech or Veterinarian to go over what was done during the visit. My pets have always been a member of my family. I would never take one of my children to the doctor's office and leave them to wait on a phone call. I will say this that all of the staff from the check in desk to the Vet Tech to the Veterinarian are always very pleasant and treat my pets exactly how I would. I guess it is now volume vs bedside manner.

Her communication came across as rude, dismissive, and unnecessarily harsh, making it difficult to ask questions or discuss concerns about my pet's care. Rather than feeling heard and supported, I left feeling frustrated, uncomfortable, and discouraged. As a pet owner, I expect clear communication, compassion, and courtesy from a veterinarian, especially when discussing important health matters. Unfortunately, I did not feel that my concerns were taken seriously, and the overall tone of the interaction felt mean-spirited and crude. The experience created unnecessary stress during what should have been a professional and supportive appointment.

What is an Optimum Wellness Plan?
Optimum Wellness Plans are designed to provide annual preventive care. They include head-to-tail exams, vaccines, early screening diagnostics, consultations for proper nutrition, dental care and more! Since wellness plans are not insurance, they do not include treatment for unpredictable or abnormal conditions, however discounts would apply. Because pets need ongoing preventive care, wellness plans automatically renew at the end of each twelve month period (unless paid in full at enrollment).
How do I pay for an Optimum Wellness Plan?
You can spread the cost of your wellness plan across the 12 months of your annual agreement to make it easier to budget for the essential health care your pet needs. Your monthly payments can be automatically withdrawn from a checking or savings account or charged to a credit card so that you don’t have to worry about them once you enroll. We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.

• In-room appointments: You and your pet visit the vet together. Please arrive a few minutes before your appointment time
• Drop-off appointments: If you have a drop-off appointment, we will communicate a time to drop off your pet. Keep your phone nearby and we’ll call you when your pet is ready for pickup.
• Optimum Wellness Plans® Virtual Visits: If you have an Optimum Wellness Plan and scheduled a Virtual Visit, you’ll save valuable time and get quality care from the comfort of your home.
